Intercessory prayer points with Bible Verses

Today we will be dealing with intercessory prayer points with bible verses. Intercessory, unlike other forms of prayers, is done to God on behalf of another person. In most cases, it might be that the other person is weak in prayers, or you just feel you owe the other person a duty of care in worship just like the church did for Apostle Peter when he was thrown into the prison.

In the days of the old, the priest act as an intercessor between the people and God. They stand in the gap for the people before God, and they negotiate on behalf of the people for God. The power of intercession can not be overestimated as it can change the heart of God concerning a particular issue or people.

Drawing a reference from the scripture, we can all attest that the initial plan of God was to destroy the entire city of Sodom and Gomorrah without sparing a single soul. To God, everyone staying in the city was terrible, and God decided to destroy the city by sending some archangels into the city to destroy it.
However, Abraham was able to buy time for his brother Lot and his family through intercession. God said, shall I hide anything I’m about to do from Abraham? This depicts that the extent at which the relationship between Abraham and God had been overwhelming. Abraham utilized his chances and interceded on behalf of Sodom and Gomorrah. He asked God if he will still destroy the city if there be just fifty people who are righteous, and God said he would spare the entire city if he could find only fifty righteous people.

Abraham still went further and interceded until he got to just ten people, and God again promised not to destroy the city even if he finds only ten righteous people. Suppose one man can stand in the gap for the entire nation that shows that God will always need people to stand in the gap for others. Intercessory prayer saved Apostle Peter from potential execution. Even Peter had given and was prepared to die; however, the bible recorded that the church prayed fervently for him, and God answered.

Similarly, in our lives, we will also need to intercede for others as much as they intercede for us. We are to intercede for our nation, intercede for our leaders, intercede for the church, intercede for our families and friends. There is power in intercession. Prayer Points

Father Lord, I pray for every man and woman who are being tormented by the devil, I decree that you shall arise now for their sake and rescue them in the name of Jesus. In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, I put everyone who wants deliverance from any bad habit, sin, or any harmful addictions. I decree that the heaven of mercy will open for their sake, and they shall find mercy in the name of Jesus.
Philippians 1:19 For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ

Lord Jesus, I commit into your hands every man and woman that wants miraculous healing from sickness. For it has been written that by His stripes, we are healed. I decree by the authority of heaven that God shall perfect their healings in the name of Jesus. I come against every power that has vowed that they will never make it out of that illness. I destroy such powers in the name of Jesus.

Lord Jesus, for you, have endured pain and so that we can enjoy, and the Bible made it known that God will supply all our needs according to his riches in glory through Christ Jesus. I pray for every man and woman that are needy. I decree that God will provide for them in the name of Jesus. I decree that that one helper that their life needs for it to experience a turn around God will bring that helper their way in the name of Jesus.
Philippians 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Lord God, we commit our dear country Nigeria unto your hands. I channel my prayer to the leaders of this great nation. We take solace in your word that makes us understand that the heart of man and kings is in your hands, and you direct it like the flow of waters. I commit our leaders unto your hands. I pray that you will give them the heart to love their people. The grace for them to do the right, I pray that you will give it unto them in the name of Jesus.
Psalms 122:6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.

I also pray for the economy of our country (Mention your Country) we have heard so many stories about how great the economy used to be, but all of a sudden, the good times became a history that we share in our unpleasant condition. For the scripture says when the Lord returns the captive of Zion, they were like those who dream. Lord, I pray that you will restore the fortunes of this country. Every man and woman who have sat on the fortune of this country, or anyone who has taken the fortune for himself alone, I decree that the fire of God Almighty will consume them and release the fortune back to the nation in the name of Jesus.

We commit our nation into your hands, Lord Jesus, even as the entire world continue to battle this ugly pandemic. Lord, I decree that a permanent solution to the spread of Covid-19 spring forth in the name of Jesus. On behalf of the entire world, we decree that a vaccine comes fast in the name of Jesus.
2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
Lord Jesus, I pray for the church that you will continually hold them in faith in the name of Jesus. Just like Christ has said that on this rock, I will build my church, and the gate of hell shall not prevail over it. Lord Jesus, we pray that until your second coming, do not let the church fail you in the name of Jesus.
