Today we will be dealing with prayer points for broken heart. When you hear the word broken heart, what comes to mind? Without a doubt, high expectations is the sole cause of dissappointment. Meanwhile, dissappointment is one of the biggest cause of heart break whether in relationship or life. Also, the loss of someone can cause a broken heart.

In Nigeria presently, depression has become the order of the day. We are too quick to judge a person that committed suicide, simply because we feel there is nothing too bad that should cause a man to take his own life. Whereas, when aan is depressed, there is nothing about life that makes sense anymore. A broken heart is a form of emotional stress and pain. In most cases, when it is not properly handled, it can degenerate into a psychological trauma leading to depression.

Let’s take account of Judas Iscariot in the Bible. What Judas did is almost similar to that of Apostle Peter. While Judah revealed Christ to the assailants, Apostle Peter denied Jesus when he needed him the most. These are cases of betrayal of trust. Jesus could have been heart broken that he was betrayed by his own people. Apostle Peter was able to override his feeling of guilt by seeking the face of God for forgiveness.

Judas on the other hand was overwhelmed by guilt which led to depression and in the end he took his life. Broken heart is just a step away from depression. And a depressed person can do almost anything.

Effect of Broken Heart

For us to understand the importance of this prayer, let’s quickly highlight some of the things that would happen to anyone that suffers broken heart.

It Feels God is Farther From You

When you are plunged with the feeling of pain and stress, sometimes you feel God is not in anyway near you and help would not come. Judas Iscariot was filled with pain. The love of money override his loyalty fo Christ Jesus. He became heart broken after Jesus was taken and was about to be killed. It is possible he was not aware that the assailants wanted Jesus just so they can kill him.

After Judas got to know the effect of what he has done. He could not turn to God for forgiveness. He felt the presence and mercy of God was too far from him, he went into depression and in the end, he killed himself. When we are heart broken, sometimes we lose faith in God. For instance, when we lose someone that is so important to our us. We blame God for allowing such evil happen to us. If care is not taken, broken heart can drag man away completely from the presence of God.

It Leads To Depression

This is one of the most common effect of broken heart. Depression is a bad psychological state where nothing matters, not even life. A depressed person will isolate his or herself from the general public. Sometimes they develop a deviant behavior to their neighbors.

When all these things happen, depression has crept in. It takes the grace of God and several counseling to come out of depression.

It Leads to Health Complications

If you have heard of people die unexpectedly, many times it is caused by overthinking. Often than not, we blame the devil for the death of people. Whereas, we don’t know that such person has been nursing broken heart for long.

Research has shown that when a man thinks too much, he becomes vulnerable to some dangerous health complications which can lead to death.

How To a Heal Broken Heart

 By studying the scripture

When we study the scripture, we will understand that the love of God is sufficient enough to heal all wound. The scripture says And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep His love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. (Ephesians 3:18-19) The love of God can not be quantified.

The help of Holy Spirit the Comforter

Jesus didn’t just call the holy spirit a comforter for the fun of it in book of John 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; The spirit of God is a comforting one that heal our wound and mend our broken heart.

The spirit of God gives us strength to keep hope alive until help arrives.

I decree by the mercies of the lord, every form of broken heart is healed today in the name of Jesus.

• Lord, for every man and woman whose heart has been broken by the lose of someone that is very important to them, I pray for supernatural healing today in the name of Jesus. 
• Lord, I pray for every one suffering from heart break, I pray that you will give them the strength to keep hope alive in the name of Jesus. The grace for them not to lose hope in you, the grace for them not to swayed away by depression, I pray that you will give it to them in the name of Jesus. 
• Father Lord, for every one who has lose faith in life. For everyone who doesn’t see any need to keep living. I pray that by your mercy, you will let your love fill their heart in the name of Jesus. 
• Father, I pray for people who have experienced rejection, I pray for people whose heart has been broken because of dejection, I pray that your favour will find them today in the name of Jesus. 
• Lord, appear to those that needs to find you, let those that needs your love get it, grant hope to people whose hope has been shattered, in the name of Jesus.
• I pray that you will block every way that the enemy has planned to hurt people. In every places that the enemy has placed the trap of heart break, I pray that you will take them away in the name of Jesus.
