When we pray with the scripture, there is level of authority that backs our prayers. When we quote the scriptures during prayer, it brings a sense of understanding that we are aware of the current situation and we are not unaware of the fact that God has a plan for all situations.

1. John 3:16
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. This is no doubt one of the most famous passage in the scripture. While many people just recite this passage for the fun of it, it is important to know that this passage carries more message than our trivial minds can phantom.
When Christ came to the world, he stated emphatically that of all the commandments, love is the greatest. Christ came to world through the love that God have for humanity. After the fall of the first man, there was a vacuum that was created between man and God. Man lost his rightful position in the agenda of God and there was a need for restoration of man.
The restoration could not have been possible if not by redemption. Meanwhile, redemption doesn’t happen unless something is bargain for another. God had to release Christ to die for the redemption of man.
Why You Must Know The Passage
Sometimes the devil plays on our intelligence as believers. He sometimes make us feel unloved like we have commited a crime that can not be forgiven by God. Knowing this passage will give us that assurance that God still love us.
It give us an understanding that even while we were sinner Christ has died and paid for all our sins on the cross. Our salvation is a settled deal already, all that is requested from us is to believe in the only begotten Son. Do not let the devil deceive you into thinking you can’t be saved.
2. Romans 8:28
“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”
When you are in the trouble of life, when the storm of life comes raging at you with force, you must know that all things work together for good to them that love God. Knowing that God has a better plans for you solves so many problem and it gives the courage to face any form of challenges.
Why You Must Know It
When you know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose, it brings a form of peace to a troubled mind. When your mind is greatly troubled, knowing that everything work together for good brings a level of courage to face the problem and help you stand firm in God.
3. Philippians 4:13
I can do all things through Christ that strengthen me. When you have a big dream, people will sometimes put you down with words. They make you feel you can’t do it or achieve anything through the words of their mouth. This discouragement at times might make you feel less of yourself and start giving you reasons why it will be impossible for you to accomplish those goals.
Why You Must Know It
Knowing that there is nothing that is unachievable is great, knowing that you can do all things by the power of he that strengthen you. This gives you the understanding not to rely on your strength or power. When they tell you it is not possible, when they tell you it is too big for you to achieve, you just need to tell them it is not you, but Christ who live in you.
It is not for you to accomplish, it is by the strength of Christ. This gives you a special kind of confidence.
4. Psalm 46:1
God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. Where have you been running to for help? The scripture says God is our help in moment of trouble. This means whenever we are trouble, the person we should call unto for help is God. Our help will not come from man but from God.
Remember Christ has the disciples were in a boat. Jesus slept off in the boat and suddenly, the wind became so heavy that the boat was about to capsize. The disciples relied on their strength and knowledge as sailors to salvage the situation, but all was to no avail. Until they cry out to Christ for help. When Christ was awoke, he rebuked the wind and peace was restored. This further expresses the fact that our help only come from God.
Why You Must Know
Knowing the right place or person to call for help reduces the stress of finding one. When trouble comes, this verse equip us with the knowledge that our help is from the lord, he is our help in time of trouble.
So, instead of running to other gods or seeking solutions from source that contradict Christ, we just go straight to the cross for help.
5. Matthew 11:28
Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
This is a scripture of assurance that only God can give rest to man. The scripture says come to me, all you who labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. A portion of the scripture also says for my yoke is easy and my burden is light.
Why You Must Know It
You must know this so that you won’t be decieved into thinking another form of rest exist outside Christ Jesus. No one can truly give your mind rest like Christ. He takes away the burden from your neck and grant you rest.
