Today we will be dealing with prayer points against the doubting mind. The enemy has the power to wield blessings away from a believer through unbelief. It makes you lose focus on what God can do and center your focus on what seems impossible. This unbelief can be a significant hindrance to many good things and promises of God from coming to manifestation in the life of a believer. Moreso, it can bring a severe punishment from God into any man.
Let’s take the life of Zachariah into account when the Angel of the Lord came to him to inform him that he will father a child. Zachariah and his wife Elizabeth have waited upon the Lord for years for the fruit of the womb. When God finally heard their prayers, God sent angel Gabriel to announce the good news to Zachariah. When angel Gabriel broke the news to Zachariah, he didn’t believe it, and he asked for signs. He asked for signs because he didn’t believe he could father a child after so many years of praying to God.

In response, the angel of the Lord told Zachariah that he would be deaf and dumb until the day the child is born. Luke 1:18-20 And Zacharias said to the angel, “How shall I know this? For I am an old man, and my wife is well advanced in years. And the angel answered and said to him, “I am Gabriel, who stands in the presence of God, and was sent to speak to you and bring you these glad tidings. But behold, you will be mute and not able to speak until the day these things take place because you did not believe my words which will be fulfilled in their own time.”
This portion of the scripture makes us understand that when we have doubts in our minds about what God can do, it brings suffering upon us. God wants us to believe and have faith in him. The book of Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. You still keep hope alive even when you have not received that thing. Abraham never for once doubted God. Abraham received every instruction and promises from God in good fate. Little wonder God called him the father of faith.
Apostle Thomas didn’t believe Christ could have resurrected, as he has stated before his death. That explains why he doubted in his mind when the news came to him that Christ has resurrected. There is a blessing for those who have no reason to believe but yet believe. John 20:29 Jesus said to him, “Thomas because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.
Many times, the problem is not that you don’t want to believe, but the enemy has taken your heart away from the greatness of God. Instead of seeing how great God is, you see how enormous your problem is instead. This was what happened to the servant of Elisha when they were under attack. The physical sight of the army had encompassed him with a terrible fear that he could not see the host of heaven who is solidly behind them. For you to activate your belief system, you must overcome fear. Also, you must try to know God better. There is a great deal in knowing God.
Prayer Points:
- Lord, I overcome every fear in my mind by the power in the name of Jesus. For it has been written, we have not been given the spirit of fear but adoption to cry Ahba father. I cancel fear in my heart in the name of Jesus.
- Lord, I pray for an unwavering relationship with you. I want to know you better. Apostle Paul said that I might know him and the power of His resurrection. Lord, I want to know you better; I ask that as I make efforts to know you, you will reveal yourself to me even better.
- Father Lord, I activate my belief system. I come against every form of doubt in my mind, in the name of Jesus. Every spirit of doubt radiating in my heart, I come against you by the power in the name of Jesus.
- Father Lord, I pray that you will help me to set my gaze upon the cross. I don’t want to be distracted by the size of my problem. I ask for the grace to always be encouraged by the greatness of my God. I come against every form of distraction in my mind that can birth fear and unbelief. I remove it in the name of Jesus.
- Lord, the scripture says But without faith, it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Lord, I want to please you. I ask for the grace that will intensify my faith in you in the name of Jesus. I ask that you will grant me the grace to have tremendous faith in you, the grace to believe you even if the instruction or promise defy the knowledge of man in the name of Jesus.
- Lord Jesus, in every way, the disappointment of breakthrough has created doubt in my mind against what you can do or what you promise to do. I ask that the angel of the Lord will take away every hindrance of breakthrough from my way in the name of Jesus. Lord, every stone of disappointment is taken away in the name of Jesus.
- Lord, every delayed miracle, every promise that is long due for manifestation, I decree by the authority of heaven, let them begin to manifest in the name of Jesus.
- Lord Jesus, you are the prince of peace and love. I ask that you will let my life be encircled in the love of the father. I ask that my life begin to experience great love from the father from this moment in the name of Jesus.
- Lord God, the scripture says Christ has taken upon himself all our infirmities, and He has healed all our diseases. I pray by the authority of heaven help me believe this word of hope in the name of Jesus. Far beyond what the doctors have said about my health, help me believe what you have said about my health in the name of Jesus.
- Lord, the scripture says God will supply all my needs according to His riches in glory through Christ Jesus. Father, I pray that you will help me believe this promise in the name of Jesus.
- Lord Jesus, I pray that by your mercy, you will take out my unbelieve. Give a new heart that trust the Lord, grant me a mind that doesn’t doubt the promises of the lord. This I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
