Today we will be dealing with 30 Prayer Points Against Evil Foundations. Evil foundations are the unseen roots of persistent struggles in the lives of many believers. These foundations can stem from generational curses, ancestral covenants, or unrepented sins from the past, hindering spiritual progress and divine fulfillment. To uproot these foundations, we must seek God’s intervention through fervent prayer and scriptural understanding.
Understanding Evil Foundations
The Bible teaches that the actions of our forefathers can have lasting consequences on subsequent generations. In Exodus 20:5, God warns that the iniquities of the fathers can be visited upon the children to the third and fourth generation. This means that without intervention, negative spiritual legacies can be passed down, manifesting as stagnation, sickness, poverty, or spiritual oppression.

In Ezekiel 18:2, the Israelites used the proverb, “The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children’s teeth are set on edge,” which reveals how generational sins affected the children. While God clarifies that each person bears responsibility for their own sins, evil foundations can still operate in the background if not consciously renounced.
Identifying Evil Foundations
Evil foundations can manifest in different ways, such as:
- Generational Poverty or Failure: Recurring financial struggles or career setbacks that seem to be a pattern across the family line.
- Ancestral Worship or Idolatry: Where ancestors have made covenants with idols or demonic spirits, often resulting in spiritual bondage or oppression in descendants.
- Unrepented Sins: In some cases, foundational problems may arise from unaddressed sins or disobedience to God’s commandments (Joshua 7:1-26 shows how Achan’s sin affected the whole nation of Israel).
- Recurrent Illnesses: Diseases that seem to persist in the family, which may be linked to spiritual roots rather than medical causes.
Biblical Examples of Evil Foundations
- Gideon and the Altar of Baal: In Judges 6:25-32, God instructed Gideon to destroy the altar of Baal that his family had built. This altar represented an evil foundation that hindered Gideon’s destiny until it was destroyed.
- King David and the Gibeonites: In 2 Samuel 21:1-14, a famine plagued Israel due to King Saul’s unjust actions against the Gibeonites. This issue, caused by a broken covenant, affected an entire generation until it was dealt with through prayer and restitution.
- Jericho’s Curse: In Joshua 6:26, after Jericho’s fall, Joshua cursed the city. This curse manifested years later when Hiel rebuilt the city and lost his sons in the process (1 Kings 16:34), showing how evil foundations can have long-term effects unless addressed.
Steps to Overcome Evil Foundations
- Repentance and Confession: Start by confessing any known or unknown ancestral sins. In Daniel 9:4-5, Daniel prayed, confessing the sins of his ancestors before seeking God’s intervention. Acknowledge any disobedience or idolatry in your lineage and ask for God’s forgiveness.
- Renunciation of Evil Covenants: Renounce every evil agreement, vow, or covenant made by ancestors with satanic powers. Colossians 2:14 speaks about Christ having “canceled the record of the debt that stood against us with its legal demands.” Through the blood of Jesus, we are delivered from every evil covenant.
- Breaking Curses: Jesus became a curse for us by hanging on the cross (Galatians 3:13). Through His sacrifice, we have the authority to break generational curses. Pray fervently to break every inherited curse and declare your freedom in Christ.
- Rebuilding New Foundations in Christ: After destroying evil foundations, it is essential to rebuild your life upon the solid foundation of Jesus Christ. Psalm 11:3 asks, “If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?” The answer is to rebuild with the principles of God’s Word, prayer, and obedience to His commands.
- Fervent Prayers: Persistent and strategic prayers are essential in dealing with evil foundations. James 5:16 tells us that “the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.” Engage in warfare prayers, seeking God’s intervention and protection.
Prayer Points Against Evil Foundations
- Prayer of Repentance: Father, I come before You in repentance. I confess the sins of my forefathers and my household that have opened doors to evil foundations in my life. By the blood of Jesus, cleanse me from every iniquity (1 John 1:9).”
- Renouncing Ancestral Covenants: I renounce every evil covenant made by my ancestors with idols or demonic spirits. I declare that I am no longer bound by these agreements, for Christ has redeemed me from every curse (Galatians 3:13).
- Breaking Generational Curses: I break every generational curse operating in my life through the power of the blood of Jesus. I declare that no weapon formed against me will prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Every curse, be nullified in Jesus’ name!
- Rebuilding on Christ the Solid Rock: Lord, rebuild my life on the solid foundation of Christ. Let Your Word and truth establish my destiny (1 Corinthians 3:11). I declare that Jesus is the cornerstone of my life and family.
- Prayer for Deliverance: Father, deliver me from every foundational problem that is hindering my progress. Uproot every evil root in my life, and replace it with Your divine blessings (Matthew 15:13).
- Prayer for Divine Restoration: Lord, restore all that I have lost due to evil foundations. Just as You restored Job after his trials, restore my health, finances, and spiritual strength in Jesus’ name (Job 42:10).

1. Father, I thank You for the gift of salvation and the power in the blood of Jesus to break every evil foundation in my life, in the name of Jesus Christ.
2. Lord, I repent of every sin in my lineage that has established evil foundations in my family, and I plead the blood of Jesus for cleansing, in the name of Jesus Christ.
