PRAYER FOR THE NATION OF MAURITIUS

Today, we shall be engaging in prayer forbthe nation of Mauritius. Mauritius is located southern African region, just about 800km away from Madagascar in the eastern part. When searching for some of the most beautiful cities in Africa, Mauritius is one of them. The nation is regarded as one of the most visited countries on the African continent with hundreds of travellers trooping into the country for tourism.

Mauritius is an island with just about 1.2 million people as at 2018 when they held the last census. The nation of Mauritius is small in size and population and it has enough wealth to feed her people.
The pride herself to be one of the highest GDP per capita in the entire Africa with a GDP of $20,500. Here is one of the few countries in Africa with a low percentage of people living below poverty line. In Mauritius, just about 8% of her people lives below poverty line. Some of the major export of the country include,: clothing and textile, fish, sugar etc.
Judging by all these good and mouthwatering facts about the country, one would begin to wonder why it is necessary to still say a prayer for the nation of Mauritius.

WHY YOU SHOULD PRAY FOR MAURITIUS

Not minding the fact that scripture mandated it that we pray always 1 Thessalonians 5:17 Pray without ceasing. It is also important to pray for Mauritius that everything should keep going forward and remain good. Because, it is better for one to be poor and striving to become rich, than for one to have experienced wealth and all of a sudden everything go down the drain. Similar thing has happened to some countries in Africa, there used to be a time when everything were going on fine, the economy is bouyant, the government is capable in meeting people’s need, everything is just fine with them. But all of a sudden, the worst and unexpected happened.

Despite the richness in the land of Mauritius, it is still expedient that God is invited into the nation. The moment a man feels he doesn’t need God anymore, the moment human thinks they can do everything on their own, the moment pride and ego has successfully covered the sense of reasoning of an individual, God becomes angry with such person. We experienced similar cases in the Bible, king Uziah is one good example of this.

PRAY FOR THE GOVERNMENT OF MAURITIUS

Proverbs 4:7: “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.
The scripture disclose that wisdom is principal and it is profitable to direct. Now that things are going on fine is when the government of Mauritius needs more prayer. If things would continue the way it is and there will be an increase in the nation’s economy, the government needs the prayer of the saints.
Proverbs 29:2 When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn. The government seat of Mauritius must be forbidden for an unrighteous man to take hold of. God must continually install a man after His heart in the seat of government.

PRAY FOR THE PEOPLE OF MAURITIUS

There is no doubt that the people of Mauritius are great people. They are quite loving and very peaceful. Hardly would one find a person living in abject poverty in Mauritius, unlike some other countries in Africa.
However, the words of Apostle Paul in book of phillipians 3:10-11 Philippians 3:10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;

Philippians 3:11 If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead. There is a need for the people of Mauritius to know more and thirst more for God. The silver lining is that people only get to find God when they are distressed situation, but when things are going on fine with them, everyone just begin to mind their own business leaving God out of the picture.
The essence of the creation of man is for him to have a constant fellowship with his maker (God). When there is a break in the chain of Communication between man and God, the devil isn’t far from the scene.

PRAY FOR THE ECONOMY OF MAURITIUS

Yes! The economy is smooth and consistently increasing since the nation gained her independence in 1968. Before independence, the nation of Mauritius was below standard economy. However, after independence, Mauritius remains among the Sub-Saharan Africa region’s most business-friendly countries.
Tourism and Information Communication Technology (ICT) has become the biggest and highest source of revenue for the nation of Mauritius.
Nevertheless, it is important that that when saying a prayer for the nation of Mauritius, we remember the economy. The chain of success of the economy must not experience any backward shift.

PRAY FOR THE CHURCH

Despite the wealth of the nation, there are so many people who are living below the spiritual standard that God has in plan for them. There is a need for spiritual sanitation of many people that would free them from foundational contamination and bondage. Also, that will help them attain freedom from spiritual yokes and bondage that has held them down to a particular spot for long.
Since the men at the corridor of power didn’t fail, it is important that those at the corridor of spirituality also alleviate the spiritual sufferings and pains of the people. 1 Pet 1:15-1 6: “But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.” There is a need for through worshippers that will serve God in truth and spirit.
Conclusively, Mauritius needs the prayer of saints to keep moving.
