Today we shall be studying bible verses about baptism. Baptism is one of the most important events in our Christian Life. It is a believer rituals that gives us the consciousness that our old self has been put to death for us to be rebirth in fine glory, the glory of the only begotten son. Baptism involves dipping someone into the water.

When a person is baptised, it is believed that such a person has been watched completely from sin, and they have been made whole again by the cleansing of the water. Even Christ Jesus was baptised before he commenced his mission.

However far beyond that conventional style, the baptism of the Holy Ghost is far beyond the physical one. It is the spiritual indoctrination of a believer into the realm of the Supernatural. Unlike the physical one that involves water, the baptism of the Holy Ghost involves the fire of God and the blood of Christ. The blood of Christ to wash us clean from sin, and the fire of the Holy Ghost which will be our new power.

All the Apostle were baptised with water, but when Christ came, he baptised them with Holy Ghost and power. As believers, we can not underestimate the power of baptism in our lives. Despite the fact that the Apostles worked directly with Christ for years, Jesus still could not trust them with the task ahead. He told them that he would send a comforter that would guide them and he instructed them to stay in Jerusalem until they had received power.

The Baptism of the Holy Ghost brings power. Little wonder, Apostle Peter that denied Christ when a little girl accused him stood in front of over three thousand people to preach the sermon of Christ. That is the efficacy of the baptism.
We as Christians too must have the baptism of the Holy Ghost, we must be equiped with power from God and we can only get that power from God Almighty when the Holy Ghost descend upon us. We have complied a list of bible verses about baptism

Matthew 3:16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:

Matthew 20:22-23 But Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? They say unto him, We are able.
