Prayer Points Against Social Injustice

Today we will be dealing with prayer points against social injustice.

Isa. 1:17 Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.

Zec. 7:9 says, “Thus says the Lord of hosts, Render true judgments, show kindness and mercy to one another”

Let’s take our minds back to the horrific death of George Floyd, an African American who was killed unjustly after an arrest. The EndSars Protest which started shortly after the lockdown in 2020 is a well relatable event that we have seen and heard of. We have seen protesters taking to the streets and we see that this fight is due to the social Injustice thats deeply rooted in our system.

It’s been backed up with the Populazed chants such as “soro soke” which means speak up. In other places we see the writing,”We want a New Nigeria”, “End Bad Governance” with a hash tag on our various social media platforms. All of these came to be as a result of the terrible system that we have, filled with injustice, discrimination, unlawful arrest, enhanced kidnapping and unattended insecurity.

Prov. 14:31, Whoever oppresses a poor man insults his Maker, but he who is generous to the needy honors him.

Let’s briefly define what Social Injustice means.

According to Study Notes, “Social Injustice definition says that it is a situation when some unfair practices are being carried in the society. Whatever unjust is happening is usually against the law and it might not be something that is considered a moral practice. Basically, social injustice occurs when the equals are treated in an unequal way and the unequals are treated in an equal way.”

Bishop David Oyedepo once said, ” A closed mouth is a closed destiny”

The youths have been referred to the generation that speaks up. Against what? Social Injustice, against unfairness and all attending forms of Injustice.

It is not enough to be angry about the past and current situation of the country, we ought to open our mouth, express our displeasure against oppression and talk to God in prayers about it.

Prov. 31: 8-9, Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction. Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy.

Every day we hear of terrific cases of social Injustice in our country, Nigeria. We see cases where the masses do not have equal access to adequate health care services, where innocent youths are been picked off the streets and taken to prisons with no just cause, cases where people are been kidnapped and killed with no form of concern from the government on regards security.

All of these and many more do we witness everyday in our country Nigeria and we as God’s watchman would not be an onlooker but a partaker in waging war against every form of Injustice in the place of Prayer.

Zec. 7:9-10 Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Execute true judgment, and shew mercy and compassions every man to his brother: And oppress not the widow, nor the fatherless, the stranger, nor the poor; and let none of you imagine evil against his brother in your heart. “You shall do no injustice in court. You shall not be partial to the poor or defer to the great, but in righteousness shall you judge your neighbor.

We need realize that for both the youths and the aged, it’s our responsibility to rise up to right the wrongs of social Injustice. We can no longer be nonchalant towards governance in our country because it concerns all, it touches all.

Prayer Points

• Father in the name of Jesus, we thank you for your love and kindness over us. Be thou exalted oh Lord in the name of Jesus.
• Father we thank you for your steadfast love and daily mercies, thank you because you daily load us with benefits, be thou exalted in Jesus name.
• Father we pray that you have Mercy upon us as a nation in the name of Jesus.
• Father in the name of Jesus, let righteous judgement prevail in our system towards all in Jesus name.
• Father in the name of Jesus, we declare fairness and justice in every sector of our country in the name of Jesus.
• Father we pray against every form of oppression in the lives of every citizen, we curse it from the roots in the name of Jesus.
• Lev. 19:15 says, ” Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: thou shalt not respect the person of the poor, nor honour the person of the mighty: but in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbour”
• Heavenly Father, we pray that justice shall prevail in the courts in the name of Jesus.
• Heavenly Father we come against unfair treatment of people, we put an end to it Lord in the name of Jesus.
• Psa. 82:3 says, “Give justice to the weak and the fatherless; maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute.” Father in the name of Jesus, we pray that justice is good ven to the weak in our society, our country in the name of Jesus.
• Father we pray against ever form of godfathersim that’s eaten deep into our system and has brought injustice in our nation in the name of Jesus.
• Father Lord we pray against every form of Injustice in every sector of our economy in the name of Jesus.
• We curse every tribal discrimination from the roots in the mighty name of Jesus.
• The Psalms remind us that you are our Refuge in the midst of trials; you are our everlasting fortress. You are our only true safe place. May we leave every tear and every ache of our heart at your feet; may we trust you with these realities and these feelings and know that you are sovereign over all. Father we pray that there’s comfort for the broken hearted who have suffered Injustice in one way or the other in the name of Jesus.
• Father in the name of Jesus, teach us to see others in the same way you see them that equality may exist and reign in our hearts in the name of Jesus.
• Father in the name of Jesus, execute your true judgement on every oppressor of the righteous in the name of Jesus.
• Heavenly Father, for every families that have suffered from the unjust treatment of the Nigerian government, we pray that you shall heal them of the hurt and pain, justice shall prevail and peace is restored unto them in the name of Jesus.
• Father we pray that for every innocent child in the prison yards and cells, let your mercy find them and let justice speak for then in the mighty name of Jesus.
• Father pray that you’ll right all the wrongs going in in the Nigerian system and vindicate those who are being treated unjustly in the name of Jesus.
