Prayer Points For Courage

Today we will be dealing with prayer points for courage. As much as we want to obey the instructions of God, sometimes we need courage to do that. Disobedience to the instructions of God is very bad. Meanwhile, sometimes it is not that most people just want to disobey God’s instruction, however, their fear has disrupted their trust in the instruction of God.

We need courage in our lives as believers. In the book of Matthew 28:18-20 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. This was the great commission that was given to us by Christ Jesus. Up until now, some people still have it difficult to preach the gospel because they lack courage.

It is important to know that courage is not the absence of fear. However, it is the ability to override your ride and do what needs to be done. Queen Esther would not have entered into the king’s court to negotiate on behalf of her people if not that she had the courage to do that. Moses would have remained a shepherd if not that he had the courage to do the task that has been committed into his hands.

Importance of Courage

It gives us ability to do the will of God

It will be very difficult for someone that lack courage to be able to fulfill the will of God for his life. There are times that we have to do some dangerous things in order to fulfill the will of God. Remember when God told Moses to go into Egypt and tell pharaoh to let the people of Isreal go. Moses could have turned away from God and go his way instead of entering Egypt.

Meanwhile, this would have countered the will of God for the life Moses. For years that the children of Isreal were held in captivity, God was preparing Moses as a deliverer. The will of God for the life of Moses is to grow, become a man and be instrumental in the release of Isrealites from captivity. Without courage, Moses would have failed.

It helps us obey God 

In the absence of courage, David would have remained the shepherd of flocks forever. He would not have showed himself before the king and before the people of Isreal as a mighty warrior. The size and military experience of Goliath is a force that is capable of creating fear in any individual.

David obeyed the leading of God Almighty, first by going to the battle ground to give relief materials to his brothers who were in Saul’s army. Thereafter, he saw the bragging giant. He was also led to fight him and restore the glory and respect of God’s nation, Isreal. Without courage, there are some instructions that will be difficult for us to obey.

Fulfill the great mission

Apostle Peter had no courage when he denied Christ thrice before the rooster crows. Peter denied Jesus without thinking twice. This was because he lacked courage. But when the spirit of God came upon him, he stood and preached the gospel to thousands of people.

For us to fulfill the great mission we need courage.

How Do We Find Courage

Through the word of God

The first place we can find courage is by studying the word of God. The scripture houses the promises of God for our lives. When. We study the scripture we get to know God even better and know some of the His promises for our life.

When we understand the nature of God how He operate, there is this courage that we get to do things. The scripture says the Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. These are God’s promises that can give us courage

Through the power of the holy ghost

All the apostles were without power until the holy ghost came upon them on the day of pentecost. Little wonder the scripture says you shall receive power when the holy spirit has come upon you.

A powerful man is a courageous man and the holy spirit gives power to human. Part of our prayer for courage will be prayer points for the power of the holy ghost upon our lives.

Prayer Points

Lord God, I thank you for this exposition. I magnify you for the grace to know you even better, let your name be exalted in name of Jesus.

Lord, I pray for the courage to obey all your instructions. I pray for the courage to fulfill your will for my life, Lord grant it unto me in the name of Jesus.

Lord Jesus, I pray that you will give me your holy spirit and power. Your holy spirit that will quicken my mortal body. Your holy spirit that will give me power, Lord grant it unto me in the name of Jesus.

Lord Jesus, I want to fulfill the great commission that you have assigned unto me as a believer. I pray for the grace, I pray for courage, Lord grant it unto me in the name of Jesus.

The scripture says we have not be given the spirit of fear but of sonship to cry Ahba Father. Lord, I come against every spirit of fear, let them be destroyed in the name of Jesus.

Every spirit of fear that will hinder me from fulfilling the will of God for my life, I destroy it by the fire of the holy ghost.

For it has been written, fear not for I’m with you, be not dismay for I’m thy God. Lord, I pray that your presence will not leave me all the days of my life in the name of Jesus.

The scripture says when Isreal were leaving Egypt, the house of Jacob out of people of strange language. Judah was His sanctuary and Isreal was His dominion. The sea saw it and fled, Jordan drew back. Father, I pray that your presence, power and glory will go with me all the day of my life in the name of Jesus.

Lord, I pray that by your mercy, you will take away my fear in the name of Jesus.
