Today we will be dealing with 10 Bible verses you must know when praying for mercy. Mercy in it natural form is a combination of unmerited favour, grace and blessing. The mercy of the lord can do anything and solve any difficult situation. Christ was moved with compassion and he healed the sick and raised the dead. The mercy of God upon the children of Isreal made them God’s people, despite their rebellious act against God, the mercy of God was still sufficient for them.
The mercy of God is what we need. When God shows us mercy, we are automatically favoured, blessing will locate us without stress, when we call one a thousand will come to us. The book of Romans 9:15 For He says to Moses, “I will have mercy on whomever I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whomever I will have compassion.” This means is not everyone that would enjoy the mercy of God.

I decree as an oracle of God, among the people that will be worthy to enjoy God’s unmerited mercy, I pray that you shall be counted worthy in the name of Jesus. When praying for mercy, use the following bible verses:
Psalm 25:6-7
Remember, O Lord, Your tender mercies and Your lovingkindnesses, For they are from of old. Do not remember the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions; According to Your mercy remember me, For Your goodness’ sake, O Lord.
When you want forgiveness and mercy for a terrible sin that you have commited, here is a Bible verse to pray to God. The mercy of the lord are from the old and God will through mercy forget the sin of a man and bless him or her. Pray to God for mercy using this Bible verse.
Psalm 145:8-9
The Lord is gracious and full of compassion, slow to anger and great in mercy. The Lord is good to all, and His tender mercies are over all His works.”
God is gracious, full of compassion and slow to anger. This was evidently displayed in the story of the Isrealites. Despite how much God has done for them when they were in Egypt, in the wilderness and in front of the sea, they still denied God, choose a graven image for themselves. But the lord is gracious and slow to anger, he still led them into the promise land.
This ascertain that fact that there is no one that can earn the mercy of God.
John 3:16
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
Who told you are not in the plan of God. You were one of the reasons Christ came to the earth to die for the sins of men. The scripture says for God so loved the world. God love you and that’s why He sent His son to die on the cross so you can be saved. It was through the mercy of God that Christ came to the world.
Now you can cry for mercy using the name of Jesus.
Ephesians 2:4-5
But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved) …”
God is rich in mercy. When you pray for mercy, use this scripture verse for prayers. He loved us first that’s why His mercy is ever sure over us. Even when we were sinners Christ has died for us. This is mercy just so we don’t perish in the grave of sin.
Deuteronomy 4:31
The LORD your God is a merciful God. He will not abandon you, destroy you, or forget the promise to your ancestors that he swore he would keep.
Do you feel you have been abandoned. Here is a Bible verse to attract the mercy of God. The scripture says God is merciful and He will not abandon you neither will He forget the promise He made to the fathers. God promised Abraham, the covenant extended to Isaac, then Jacob before it became Eminent in the lives of the Isrealites.
Hebrews 4:14-16
Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”
God is merciful. You don’t need to be clean or righteous before you can communicate with God, Christ has broken that boundary. We have not a High Priest who can not sympathize with our sin. We can body go to the throne with assurance that we will fine mercy. Beg God for mercy with this verse.
Titus 3:4-6
But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared, He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior.
We are saved not by the extent of our good deeds by the mercy of the most High. He wash away the sin of an entire generation and make us whole again. Our mind is renewed by the power of the holy spirit. All these happened not by the extent of our good deeds but by the mercy of God.
1 Timothy 1:16
But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life.
Jesus is merciful. He came into the world through the mercy of the father and He himself is still merciful. When Jesus is moved with compassion, great deeds must happen.
Psalm 103:10-12
He does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.
God does not think or act like a man. The scripture says as the heaven is far from the earth so great is His love for those that fear Him. God loves us that’s why He shows compassion and mercy when we need them. When seeking for the mercy of God, use this passage of the scripture to pray.
Lamentations 3:22
The faithful love of the LORD never ends! His mercies never cease.
This is the scripture telling us to what extent the love and mercy of God for mankind is. God is faithful. Men may boast of their money, they may boast of their wealth but only God can boast of His righteousness. His love knows no bounds, so also His mercy endure from generation to another.
