Today we will be dealing with Prayer Points to Tame the Tongue. The tongue is a powerful organ in the body. It enhances our vocals making our voice to be heard. As important as the tongue is, it is more important to when and how to use it. If you find it difficult to control your tongue, it might land into trouble one day.
In the scripture, God never punished anyone woman with barrenness. The only barren woman in the scripture was one of David’s wives who could not tame her tongue. 2 samuel 6:14 And David danced before the LORD with all his might, wearing a priestly garment. So David and all the people of Israel brought up the Ark of the LORD with shouts of joy and the blowing of rams’ horns. But as the Ark of the LORD entered the City of David, Michal, the daughter of Saul, looked down from her window. When she saw King David leaping and dancing before the LORD, she was filled with contempt for him.

In the subsequent portion of the scripture, she mocked the king for dancing so irresponsibly. 2 Samuel 6:20 When David returned home to bless his own family, Michal, the daughter of Saul, came out to meet him. She said in disgust, “How distinguished the king of Israel looked today, shamelessly exposing himself to the servant girls like any vulgar person might do!”
Michal got into trouble because she could not tame her tongue. There are Christians whose major demon is the tongue. Often than not they end up saying this that they would regret or things that get them into trouble. If you are one of those people, we have a good news for you. Prayer is an effective way of mastering control over your tongue. The wisdom of God will come over you and it shall be exuded even in your speech in the name of Jesus Christ.
Prayer Points to Tame the Tongue
- I cover my tongue with the blood of Jesus.
- I command all the spiritual evil in my life to be destroyed, in the name of Jesus.
- I paralyse and nullify the activities of evil spirits in my life, in the name of Jesus.
- I decree the exit of the spirits of lying from my life, in the name of Jesus.
- Let the fire of God purge my tongue from every filthy contamination in Jesus name.
I pray that the Holy Spirit will guard my tongue in the name of Jesus Christ. - I refuse to be a slave to my tongue, I ask for the grace to take control of my tongue in the name of Jesus Christ.
- Father I decree, my tongue will not speak evil in the name of Jesus Christ.
Every element of anger in my spirit, i subdue it today in the name of Jesus Christ. I take possession of my mind by the authority of heaven in the name of Jesus Christ. - Lord, grant me the grace to be exact in my explanations. When I open my mouth to talk, let me speak from your wisdom in the name of Jesus Christ.
- Father Lord, I ask that you grant me the gift of diplomacy that my tongue will continually mend every broken part and not further cause a division in the name of Jesus Christ.
- Lord, empower me to tame my tongue and deliver me from the spirit of self-destruction in Jesus name.
- Father, I leave the wheel of my life into your care, I ask that you take charge today in the name of Jesus Christ. I dedicate my tongue to you, I ask that you mould it into your perfect choice in the name of Jesus Christ.
- I cut myself off from every spirit of evil and careless speech, in the name of Jesus.
- I command every spirit of complaining in my life to depart, in the name of Jesus.
- Let every serpentine spirit and poison depart from my tongue, in the name of Jesus.
- I remove every venom of the serpent on my tongue that speak evil and hurtful words into the lives of people in the name of Jesus Christ.
- I command every agent of bondage and destruction in my tongue to depart, in the name of Jesus.
- Lord, repair all damages done to my life as a result of the wrong use of my tongue in the name of Jesus Christ.
- I declare today that through my tongue I shall control the blessings in my life in the name of Jesus.
- Lord, deliver my tongue from becoming a weapon of evil in Jesus name.
- I come against every scheme of the enemy trying to turn my tongue into a weapon of evil in the name of Christ of Jesus. My tongue belongs to the Lord and my words are from the wisdom of heaven in the name of Jesus Christ.
- I cancel all the evil words I have uttered against my life in Jesus name.
- Lord, deliver my life from the hand of evil talkers in the name of Jesus.
- Every hold that the Lord enemy has over my tongue is broken today in the name of Jesus Christ.
- With my tongue, I condemn every evil tongue that is speaking against my life, in name of Jesus Christ.
- Lord, heal me of all diseases of the tongue. Every form of infirmity in my tongue is taken away today in the name of Jesus Christ.
- I loose myself from the grip of lying Spirits, in the name of Jesus. Every lying tongue is taken out of my mouth today in the name of Jesus Christ.
- Let every problem in my life originated from wrong speaking dissapear from me now in the name of Jesus.
