Today we will be dealing with prayer points for families and marriage. One of the top plans of the enemy is to destroy marriages and families. The devil is scared of the great things a functional family and marriage would do. He is scared of the great havoc that will meet the kingdom of darkness if the families and marriage live up to the true deeds of their essence. That’s why the family is always on top of the enemy’s plans. And he would stop at nothing until the family is destroyed. 

God has a great agenda for the family. He has a great plan for marriage. That’s why the scripture said in the book of Genesis 2:24 Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. A man must leave his father and mother then cling on to his wife and both of them shall become one flesh. The concept of family started from the coming together of a man and woman. God has a purpose for every family. Just like he orchestrated the marriage of Joseph and Mary that led to the birth of Christ Jesus. The story of Christ’s birth would have taken an ugly shape if the enemy succeeded in poisoning Joseph’s heart against Mary. 

Just as Joseph rose to the occasion to rescue his family from the wind of lies flying around, you must also be intentional about saving your marriage and family. Are you worried about why the enemy is always on the trail of destroying your marriage? Let’s quickly highlight some of the reasons why the enemy is always eager to destroy families and marriages. 

Reasons Why Enemy Always Destroy Families and Marriage

Here are some of the reasons why the enemy sees every Christian marriage as a threat and is always on mission to destroy it. 

He’s Scared The Next Messiah Will Be Born

The enemy is scared that the next savior will be born. And because he knows that God won’t deliver the savior to a family that has been polluted already, he’s scared your marriage might lead to the birth of the savior. It is important to know that the savior in this context doesn’t mean Jesus Christ. But a shepherd who will do the work of God with all their strength and might. 

He feels threatened when he sees a marriage of holiness and righteousness. He gets scared when he sees a family standing in the love and strength of God. That’s why he is always on the mission to destroy such families and marriage. 

He Doesn’t Want Families To Know Their Power

The scripture said in the book of Ecclesiastes 4:12 – And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him—a threefold cord is not quickly broken. There is strength in number, there is a greater strength in unity. 

The enemy knows if the marriage is stable and hands are held together in prayers, such prayers can subdue the kingdom of darkness. He knows that attacking one member of the family means attacking members of the family, that’s why he will do everything to ruin the unity that exists in a family. 

He Detest Everything God Created

The devil is the enemy of God and of His people. He hates everything that is of God. That’s why he’s always on rampage against the things of God. A Christian marriage and family often come under the heavy attack of the enemy. 

Marriage is an institution created by God for the purpose of bringing children into the world and depopulating the kingdom of darkness. Since the time marriage was created, the enemy has made it a duty to attack the family. He does this by plaguing the family with different problems like misunderstanding, barrenness, poverty and many others. 

He Wants To Stop Our Prayers From Answer 

The devil knows that a divided house will not stand. When husband and wife are not in unison, it hinders their prayers from answers. The enemy knows this. That’s why he will do everything it takes to remove the unity between husband and wife.

Apostle Peter warned against disunity between husband and wife in the book of 1 Peter 3:7 In the same way, you husbands must give honor to your wives. Treat your wife with understanding as you live together. She may be weaker than you are, but she is your equal partner in God’s gift of new life. Treat her as you should so your prayers will not be hindered.

Prayer Points For Families and Marriage

• Lord Jesus, you taught us that of all commandments, the greatest one is love. I pray that you will restore the first love into this marriage. Lord, you are the God of restoration. I pray that you will restore the lost love in this marriage in the name of Jesus. I pray that you will teach us to love ourselves in the right way in the name of Jesus.
• Lord Jesus, every stone heart in my partner and I, I pray that they are made flesh in the name of Jesus. I come against every spirit of pride and stubbornness that has possessed this marriage, I destroy it by the power in the name of Jesus. I pray that you will give us the heart of humility in the name of Jesus.
• Lord, I pray for a total healing upon this union in the name of Jesus. In every way that this relationship is suffering from one sickness or the other, I pray for speedy recovery in the name of Jesus. The scripture says, He sent forth His words and healed their diseases. I decree by the authority of heaven that you will send forth your words this moment and heal every sickness upon this marriage in the name of Jesus.
• Lord, every heart filled with anguish, pain and resentment, I pray that they are healed today in the name of Jesus. I pray that you will heal every broken heart in this marriage. Every heart that is filled with pain and burn for revenge, I pray that you will heal it with love and acceptance in the name of Jesus.
• Father, I pray for good children. The fruit of the womb that are signs and wonders, I pray that you shall bless this marriage with them in the name of Jesus. I come against every form of barrenness in this marriage, for it has been written, ask and it shall be given unto you. Lord, I pray for fruitfulness in this marriage in the name of Jesus.
• Lord, arise and put the enemies responsible for replacing love for wife/husband with love for children in my marriage to flight in Jesus name. Lord, arise and put the enemies responsible for disrespectful children in my marriage to flight in Jesus name. 
• Father, i declare that all through this year, I shall never lack any good thing. Father i declare that all through this year, no member of my family shall mourn in jesus name.
• I declare that every issues of my life shall be settled this christmas in Jesus name. Jesus came to take away my sins, every sin in our lives is flushed away this year in Jesus name.
• No weapon formed against any of my family members shall prevail this christmas in jesus name. Father, I thank you for all through thus year, nobody will tell me “sorry” in Jesus name.
• Father, I thank you for all through this year, it shall be congratulations all the way for me in Jesus name. Father, I thank you for all through this year, no evil shall be fall me in Jesus name.
• Father, I thank you for me and my household shall be preserved all through this year in Jesus name. Father, I thank you for this year for us shall be our year of favour in Jesus name.
