Thanksgiving
The first step of praying is thanksgiving. You must cultivate the act of thanksgiving. There are instances when we pray amiss, but there is no instance when we fast amiss. The scripture specifically told us in the book of Philippians 4:6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. The scripture said in everything through thanksgiving, we should make our requests known to God. So before asking for anything, give thanks to God.
Seek For Forgiveness
Isaiah 59:1-2 Surely the arm of the LORD is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear. But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear. After giving thanks, the next thing we must do is seek for the forgiveness of our sins. In most cases, sin serves as a barrier between us and God. Sun separate us from God and once we are separated from God, our prayers will not be answered.
Rebuke Prince of Persia
Beside sin, Prince of Persia is another hinderance that could stop our prayers from answer. Recall when Daniel was praying fervently to God and answers were to come. The scripture recorded that a prince of Persia had laid siege against the angel stopping him from getting to Daniel.
Daniel continued to pray until the angel was freed. Prince of Persia could be anything or anyone. They force the heaven to close against us when we pray. So before you delve fully into prayers, we must pray against them.
Start Asking
Having given thanks, ask for the forgiveness of sin and praying against the prince of Persia, the next to do is to ask. The scripture said ask and it shall be given unto you, seek and you shall find. Ask everything according to the will of God. Pray fervently with faith and expect God to do His wonders.
