Prayers For Deliverance From Strongholds

Strongholds are one of the greatest tools that the enemy uses against the believer. This is why both as individuals, families and nations we have to pray relentlessly against strongholds of darkness in our lives.

The book of 2 Corinthians10 tells us that the weapons of our warfare are not carnal (fleshly) but they are mighty in God for pulling down strongholds. It then went further to say that these weapons are used to cast down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself above the knowledge of God, bringing every thought captive into the obedience of Christ.

Our minds are one of the greatest tools given to us by God. It is the seat of every decisions we have made and we will ever make. God cannot relate with us without employing our minds and so also the devil and this is why he can build strongholds in our lives.

What Are Strongholds?

Strongholds are thought patterns erected by the devil in the minds of men by deceiving them into believing things that do not conform to what the scripture says. He uses their experiences, fears, past failures, family patterns, and environmental ideologies to create these things in their minds. One way or the other everybody have been a victim of strongholds until God by His mercy helped some people to break out of it.

However this does not still suggest that those who were once victims cannot become victims again because their minds are the tools the devil employs and so as far as their minds are still fully active the possibility of a stronghold being erected is still very high.

Therefore scripture admonishes us in Proverbs 4:23 that we should guard our hearts with all diligence for out of it flows the issues of life. The devil really doesn’t need to destroy a man, all he needs to do is to lie to their minds and ensure that they keep brooding on those lies till it finally destroys them.

Jesus in the book of Matthew 13:25 spoke of how that the enemy comes to sow tares in the heart of men when they sleep and how those tares begin to grow into maturity. This parable was a clear explanation of how the devil comes to erect strongholds in the minds of men. He starts with just a mere thought, he plants it in the minds of the person and leaves him to do the thinking.

When that person begins to think on those things for long, it begins to create strong imaginative pictures in his mind and little by little the person begins to accept those thoughts as reality; at this point it has become a stronghold that he/she will now be struggling to break out from.

We really do not live in a world of wicked people, we only live in a world of people whose minds have been captured by the strongholds of the devil. People who have become addicts to all sort of habits- drinking, smoking, drugs, masturbation, premarital sex and all sorts are only victims of these strongholds and because their minds have not become fully surrendered to the power of God, they find it hard to break out from these things.

This is why Jesus had to say in the book of Matthew 15:13 that every plant which is Father did not plant in us have to be rooted out, because he knew that the devil will definitely plant things and if those things are not rooted out, they are capable of destroying us.

Strongholds makes you doubt the power of God and scripture tells us that we should not think of receiving anything from God if we ask Him in doubt, James 1:6-7. Strongholds keep you in a continuous cycle of sin and disobedience to God, such that even when you know that these things are wrong, you still find it hard to break out from. The fruit of the devil’s strongholds are recorded in Galatians 5, they include fornication, envy, drunkenness, hatred and others, and the bible records that all that those that engage in these things will not see the kingdom of God.

However, we have hope as believers because Christ has made provision for our deliverance through His word. The Bible tells us in Hebrews 4:12 that the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two edged sword that is able to pierce into our soul (minds) and our Spirit. In other words, the word of God can pierce into the deepest parts of our minds and destroy those thought patterns that have limited us for years and made us act in unpleasant ways no matter how long they have been. The Bible also tells us that we should stand fast in the liberty wherewith Christ has made us free and we should refuse to be entangled again with any yoke of bondage.

How Can I Be Set Free From Strongholds?

Prayers is the key to breaking free from every satanic stronghold, If you are therefore experiencing situations or challenges that represent the strongholds of darkness and you desire to be free from it, then these prayers for deliverance from strongholds is for you. As you engage these prayers for deliverance, every satanic stronghold that has held you bound shall set you free in the name of Jesus Christ. I encourage you to engage these prayers with every passion in your heart. You shall be free in Jesus Christ name.

PRAYERS

• Heavenly father you said in your word that anything that has not been planted by you in my life shall be rooted out, I therefore acknowledge that there are thought patterns, mindsets, strongholds in my life that were planted by the devil, I ask that you roots them out completely from my mind in Jesus name.

• Lord your word says in 2cor 3 that where your Spirit is Lord there is liberty, I therefore enthrone your Holy Spirit as lord over my life and my mind and I ask that you make me free from the strongholds in the name of Jesus.

• Lord I engage the weapons of the Spirit this moment and I cast down every arguments, thoughts and imaginations that gained entrance into my life as a result of past experiences, fears, family patterns, environmental beliefs and the opinions of others and I bring down captive into the obedience of Christ in Jesus name.

• Lord Jesus I acknowledge that you shed your blood for this reason that I may be delivered. I therefore agree with what the blood has done on my behalf and I declare that I overcome by the blood of the lamb and by the words of my testimony in Jesus name.

• Lord I ask that you take away the heart of flesh and give me a new heart that aligns with your will, help my mind to be renewed completely and help me to guard it with all diligence so that I will cease to be a victim to the strongholds of the enemy in Jesus name.

• Lord I ask that every stronghold that came as a result of the transgression of my fathers, that your blood avails on my behalf and sets me free this moment. For your word says in Isaiah 53 that you were wounded for my transgressions, bruised for my iniquities, the chastisement of my peace was laid upon you and by your stripes I am healed.

• I cancel all curses, known or unknown to me by the blood of Jesus, in the name of Jesus.

• Let the consequences of the enemy’s defeat upon my life be nullified, in the name of Jesus.

• Lord, give me power to face all the challenges of the enemy, in the name of Jesus.

• I loose myself from the bondage of fear, in the name of Jesus.

• I cancel all enchantments, curses and spells that are against my life, in the name of Jesus.

• Let every tree planted by fear in my life dry to the roots, in the name of Jesus.

• I claim my divine promotion today, in the name of Jesus.

• Lord, make me succeed and bring me into prosperity in Jesus name

• I declare that Promotion, progress and success are mine today, in Jesus’ name.

• I command all Eaters of flesh and drinkers of blood, begin to stumble and fall before me, in the name of Jesus.

• I command stubborn pursuers to pursue themselves, in the name of Jesus.
