Today we will be exploring bible verses about repentance. Firstly, repentance is being remorseful or having a bad feeling about something and making an effort to stop doing it. Repentance is the first step we take toward reconciliation with God.

The scripture noted in the book of Psalms 51:17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise. God doesn’t take pleasure in any sacrifices, and God prefers that we confess our sin and make amends not to do them again. Little wonder the book of Proverbs said He that covers his sin should not prosper, but he that confesses them shall find mercy.

Many times in our lives, we cover our sins like God is not seeing them. We are the holy brothers and sister on the surface, but in our closets, we do terrible God forsaken things. We must understand that God doesn’t want the death of a sinner, but repentance is what the Lord is asking from us. We do not have to perish with our sins when we can confess them and repent from them. Our repentance starts when we Identify that we have been doing the wrong things when we come to the knowledge that the things we are doing don’t interest God. We begin to detest those things and start avoiding them, and we turn to God for mercy to overcome the temptation of the devil that may want to force us into doing them again.
