Today we will be dealing with prayer for children’s salvation. Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
We would be praying for our children. Glory to God this cuts across every individual, couples with children and expectant couples, singles who are looking forward to settling down as well. Irrespective of our status, we have one thing in common as Believers which is Christ.

We should not be so concerned about our children’s pursuit in education, their future ambitions, their feeding, well-being and all that pertains to them that we forget to take responsibility for their Spiritual upbringing.
To abandon our children to external influence would do more harm than good. Taking a good look at the society we live in today. Times are changing and technology keeps evolving rapidly. We come across parents who are shocked at their children’s behavioral pattern and wonder how and where they might have come across such.
As God empowers us in businesses and grants us career success on the long run, that we bear fruits financially, how they grow up, what they know, what they’re being taught from home lies upon us.
They should not be left out during morning devotion. Talk to them about Jesus. Get them children Bible materials. Let them come to know God from home. The effect of this that, when there’s a solid foundation, where children can strongly point to the love of God being taught and seen between their parents, nothing will be able to shake the foundation of the knowledge they have.
Values form in their hearts. Parents ought to teach godly values that would leave indelible mark on them. It forms how they choose their friends in school, it forms how they respond to ungodliness on the outside. Why? Because they have been trained and taught from home.
We can never run out of what to teach. There are Bible Personalities to study, to examine and learn from. King David, for example, let him get to know who that Bible personalty is. These are conversations that could come up in the car, back from school, during their break time , after meals etc. It does not become a thing as there is never a time for such discussions, tiny bits here and there are seeds you plant in their hearts that would germinate into fruits, on the long run. They should not be asked outside the home who Esther is from the Bible and they are blank. In teaching and praying, we are setting our children on the right pedastal to go through life with boldness because they are equipped.
JESUS should never be a strange name to children. The Bible records that Jesus welcomed children during his incarnate ministry.
Mark 10:13-16
13.And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them.14 But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.15 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever, shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.,16 And he took them up in his arms,, put his hands upon them, and blessed them.
Let them get to know that Jesus loves them, that He cares about them. Teach them to know that Jesus would always care for them everyday.
John 3:16,”For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Teach about the works of Jesus and how saved their soul is in believing what He did for them. The Bible says that Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. It is the Word they hear that they will be inclined to.
Acts 4:12, “Neither, is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby, we must be saved.” Teach children about Salvation.
Matt.18:3-4
And, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
Jesus Christ speaking here was explaining that the hearts of children can be so tender and simple unlike the adults who might infuse rigidity into accepting the Goodnews of Our Lord Jesus Christ. The child’s mind from birth is a clean slate. The responsibility is on us to put in the work, talk to them about Jesus and the Love of the Father.
The strength to do all that is needed for us as Parents and intending Parents, the Lord will grant unto Us in Jesus Name.
That is why it is important to pray for them. Prayer works. As we pray, we see remarkable results. Halleluyah.
