Prayer Points For Higher Ground

Today we will be dealing with prayer points for higher ground.

Higher ground means changing into a higher level or status. Higher ground can be seen as a form of moving from a particular high point to the attainment of a higher point.

Higher ground can be otherwise called new level. Higher ground can come in different forms. At work it could be promotion, increment in salary, winning a contract etc. At school it could be attaining a higher grade point (GP), winning a defence, graduating etc. Spiritually it could be changing to a higher dimension, being able to hear God expressly, etc.

At every point in our life, we all desire a new level especially in our work,finances and academics.

Nobody likes to be stagnant or dormant, as a stagnant water breeds mosquitoes, we all like to move higher although it’s not as easy as it seems.

We will be having an expository on our popular Christian hymn that talks about higher ground

I’m pressing on the upward way,

New heights I’m gaining every day;

Still praying as I onward bound,

“Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.”

Lord, lift me up, and let me stand

By faith on Canaan’s tableland;

A higher plane than I have found,

Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.

Line 1- I’m pressing on the upward way

There is a way known as the ‘upward way’, it is the way that leads/links up to God, for He is sits on high far above all principalities.

Ephesians 1:21 Now he is far above any ruler or authority or power or leader or anything else—not only in this world but also in the world to come.

Pressing towards the upward way means striving and giving all of takes to get there (higher ground).

Line 2- New heights I’m gaining everyday

The goal of pressing is to gain new heights every day and not to be stagnant. To achieve new things as each day passes for each day represents newness and brings hope.

Line 3- Still praying as I onward bound

Prayer should be a habit of a believer. Prayer is one of the major tools to attaining higher grounds for it is God that makes things fall in the right places.

Line 4- Lord, plant my feet on higher ground

This is a prayer of request, this is acknowledging that it is only God that can lift one high.

Line 5- Lord, lift me high and let me stand

This is also a prayer if request to the Lord. It is a different thing to go to a higher ground and it is a different thing to be able to stand there. Only God can grant the both.

Line 6- By faith on Canaan’s tableland

2Cor 5:7 We move by faith and not by sight. As believers we are to move by faith, faith in the word of God. Canaan land is the promised Land, the land that flows with milk and honey.

Line 7- A higher plane than I have found.

In God, there is no limitation or restriction. More than you can phantom or imagine, God can take you there.

Ephesians 3:20 ‘now to Him who is able to do exceedingly more than all we ask or imagine according to His power’

Line 8- Lord, plant my feet on higher ground

This same request is being repeated here for emphasis purpose. Only God can do the work of lifting a person higher.

How to get to a higher level

Think deep, think big.

A shallow thinker can’t attain greater heights. Proverbs 23:7 ‘as a man thinketh in his heart, so he is’. You can not be greater or bigger than your imagination.

It doesn’t stop at thinking deeply alone, think big!. Imagine yourself doing great things, picture yourself at your desired height. Imagine it in your head, works towards it and gradually you’ll see it okay out.

Have mentors and role models.

Who are your mentors, who are you looking towards, who inspires you, who motivates you?

We all need someone higher than us around to teach us and keep us on the right track.

Having a mentor or role model will inspire you to go higher.

Have plans

Set plans for yourself, write down your short and long term goals, write down your vision/ dream.

This will help you mark out your level of progress and achievement or otherwise.

Pray

There is nothing outside of prayers, there is nothing prayers can not do. Pray about anything and pray about everything. Everything good requires prayer and every bad thing requires prayer.

Prayer is the master key. Prayers can take us to higher grounds.

Prayer points for a higher ground

• Father I thank you for this expository, be thou exalted in Jesus name.
• Lord I pray that you take me to the next level in the name of Jesus
• Lift me higher in Jesus name.
•  Every hindrance/barrier to my higher ground Father take it away.
• Jesus plant my feet on higher ground.
• Help me to gain new grounds everyday.
• Take away stagnancy from my life oh Jesus.
• Help me to move from grass to grace in Jesus name.
• Raise me on high in Jesus name.
• I will be productive in every area of my life in Jesus name.
• Everything I lay my hands on will be prosperous from henceforth.
• From now henceforth I refuse to Operate under a closed heaven in Jesus name.
• I am blessed beyond curse in Jesus name.
• I decree, Goodness and mercies shall follow me all the days of my life.
•  I am highly favored in Jesus name.
• Father Lord connect me with my destiny helpers in Jesus name.
• I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me, You will find expression in my life in Jesus name.
• Enlarge my coast Lord Jesus.
• Expand my territory beyond my comprehension in Jesus name.
• I am marked for greatness in Jesus name
• I pray for an explosive acceleration into greater glory in the name of Jesus.
• Thank you Jesus for answered prayer, in Jesus name I pray. Amen.
