Prayer Points For a New Beginning

Today we will be dealing with prayer points for a new beginning.

New beginning is the moment when you accept Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior. New beginning is the day you were saved Rom 10:19 if you declare with your mouth “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

The exact day you confessed all your sins and welcomed Jesus into your life is the point of a new beginning. New beginning doesn’t necessarily require you going back to the beginning of your life just like Nicodemus asked in the book of John 3:4 “How can a man be born when he is old?” Nicodemus asked. “Surely he cannot enter a second time into his mother’s womb to be born!” Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit.

All it requires Is for you to be born of water and of the spirit and accepting the Lordship of Jesus.

What new beginning entails

Forsaking your old ways/nature

New beginning is a new life entirely. It involves dropping your old nature/ways. For example, stealing, fornication, malice, adultery, lies etc now become a thing of the past.

The scripture says in 2 Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away ; behold, all things are become new.” Old nature/ways are passed away according to the scripture, therefore you are not permitted to go back to them.

Although, the devil will try to tempt you into going back to them, but you need to hold firmly unto that which you have received. Luke 9:62 Jesus said to him, “No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God.”

You must forsake your old nature/ ways totally.

Praying

Prayer is a necessary tool in the life of every new convert. It is through prayer one gets closer to God and knows what God’s mind. Prayer builds an edge and a shield over you from the enemies, this is necessary in case they try to push you to stumble.

Through prayer you will be able to overcome and forsake the old ways/nature because by praying you’ll be exchanging your weakness for His strength. But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” 1Cor 12:9 Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

Study the word of God.

As a new convert, you need to study and meditate on the word of God as commanded in the book of Josh 1:8 ‘this book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth but thou shall mediate therein day and night, for you may observe to do according to all that is written therein,for then shall thy way be prosperous and thou shall have good success. The word of God is also a guide to knowing what to do and what not to do

Psalms 119:105 ‘thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a lamp unto my path. By studying the word of God, you get closer to God daily

Walk with fellow believers

2Cor 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers, for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion hath light with darkness?

You can’t say you are a believer and still associate with unbelievers. What relationship hath righteousness with unrighteousness?. There are so many verses in the bible that’s buttress this point.

1Cor 15:33 Be not decieved, evil communication corrupts good manners. Walk with fellow believers that can help you grow and build your faith in Christ.

Join a Bible believing church

It doesn’t just stop at being a new convert, you have to join a place of worship where you can be continuously fed with the Word.

Heb 10:25 And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near. The bible strongly supports the coming together of brethren.

Prayer points 

• Father thank you for this insight, be thou exaulted in Jesus name.
• I thank you Jesus for the salvation of my soul.
• Isaiah 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
• Thank you Jesus for going through all these to save me.
• Help me never to look back.
• Father, here and now I surrender all to you.
• Give me the grace to follow you till the end in Jesus name.
• The Holy Spirit will never depart from me in Jesus name.
• I desire to know you more, Help me to read my Bible and always pray in Jesus name.
• I will never know a better yesterday in Jesus name.
• Just like the five virgins that made it to the feast, Give me oil in my lamp, keep me burning in Jesus name.
• Help me to move with believers in Jesus name.
• Just like the encounter you that changed Saul to Paul, I ask for a great encounter with you Lord Jesus.
• Take my life and let it be consecrated unto you.
• As the deer panted for the waters so my soul longeth after you on Lord.
•  Mat 5:6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness for they shall be filled.
• I hunger and thirst for you, fill my soul Lord Jesus
• I prophecy in the name of the Lord, that I am a great instrument in the hand of the most high.
•  Emcamp me with your spirit.
•  I declare you Lord over my life.
•  Help my life to be an expression of you Lord.
•  Thank you Lord for you have heard me. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
