Ephesians 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints—
Today we will be dealing with prayer points for those persecuted for the gospel. We have heard stories of apostles and prophets that were mistreated because of the gospel of Christ. There are persecutors that the devil has assigned to deal terribly with people that carry the light of the gospel. The devil uses this scheme to limit the extent of the gospel. Remember in the book of Mathew 28:19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
This was the commandment of Christ that we should go into the world and make discipleship of nations. Meanwhile, the devil understands that if this mission is accomplished, many souls will be saved from the torment of sin and hell. This explains why the devil will do everything to counter this mission. Let’s recall the story of Apostle Paul. Before Paul became an Apostle of the Lord, he was a great persecutor of the believers. Paul and his men greatly tormented the people of Christ going about to deliver the gospel of Christ all around the city.
Similarly in our present world, many people have been killed, so many people have lost their possessions and many other things to persecutors. There are places in the world that the cloud of darkness is so strong that those who brought the light of gospel can’t thrive else they may get killed. Instead of fold our hands and use the word of mouth alone to condemn prosecution, it is necessary that we also raise an altar of prayer for men and women who have suffered a bad fate because of the gospel. When Apostle Peter was cast into the prison, the church didn’t just fold their arms in silence, the prayed fervently for him and God wrath wonders through their prayers.
The book of Acts of Apostles recorded how King Herod ordered the arrest of people that belonged to the church. Peter was apprehended and thrown behind bars. Heavily armed guards were put in place to secure the prison. The plan of the king was to give Peter a public trial after the Passover. However, something happened before the passover. Acts 12:5 So Peter was kept in prison, but the church was earnestly praying to God for him. The night before Herod was to bring him to trial, Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains, and sentries stood guard at the entrance. Suddenly an angel of the Lord appeared and a light shone in the cell. He struck Peter on the side and woke him up. “Quick, get up!” he said, and the chains fell off Peter’s wrists. Then the angel said to him, “Put on your clothes and sandals.” And Peter did so. “Wrap your cloak around you and follow me,” the angel told him. Peter followed him out of the prison, but he had no idea that what the angel was doing was really happening; he thought he was seeing a vision. They passed the first and second guards and came to the iron gate leading to the city. It opened for them by itself, and they went through it. When they had walked the length of one street, suddenly the angel left him

When we pray fervently, God will arise and rescue His people. If you feel there is a need to pray for those persecuted for the gospel, use the prayer points below.
Prayer Points:
- Lord Jesus, I thank you for the wonderful gift of salvation that you brought to us through the shedding of your blood on the cross of Calvary. We thank you for the great commission to evangelise the word of God to the bitterroot valley of the unsaved. I magnify you Lord Jesus.
- Father Lord, we pray for all the believers persecuted because of the gospel. We ask that by your mercy, you will help them find peace even in the face of trouble. Lord even in their weakness, we ask that you will grant them the strength to never relent or backslide in the name of Jesus.
- Father Lord, we pray that you will give them the right words to speak. We ask that you will fill their hearts with courage, we ask that you will fill their minds with bravery. The grace for them to keep standing even during the fiercest battle, we ask that you give it to them in Jesus.
- Father Lord, we pray that you will touch the hearts and minds of their persecutors. Just like you cause Apostle Paul to have a great encounter with you on his way to Damascus, we pray that you will let the persecutors have a great encounter in Jesus name. We pray for an encounter that will change their lives for good, we ask that you cause this to happen in Jesus name.
- Lord Jesus, we ask that you fortify the believers with the strength and grace not to rely on themselves. We ask that you endow them the grace to rely on you only. Let them find a greater power from the death and ressurection of Christ. Let the power of the holy spirit becomes their shield and buckler in Jesus name.
- Lord Jesus, we ask that your presence will not forsake those who are bitterly persecuted for this course. We pray that you will be there when they need hope, when they need strength to move on, you will endow them with one. We pray Lord Jesus, that your spirit will not depart from them in Jesus name.
- Lord Jesus, the scripture says the eyes of the Lord is always upon righteous. Lord Jesus, we pray that where ever they go to, the hands of God will always be upon them. We ask that like you perform wonders in the life of Peter via the prayer of the church, we ask that those who are persecuted for the gospel will find compassion in Jesus name.
