Today we will be teaching five times you can use Psalm 20. The book of Psalm is one of the most famous chapters in the scripture. The book of Psalm contains enormous prayer requests and supplications to God. Psalm 20 is one of the Psalms that people use for prayers.
Psalm 20:1-9 May the Lord answer you when you are in distress; may the Name of the God of Jacob protect you. May He send you help from the sanctuary and grant you support from Zion. May He remember all your sacrifices and accept your burnt offerings. May He give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed. May we shout for joy over your victory and lift up our banners in the Name of our God.
May the Lord grant all your requests. Now this I know: The Lord gives victory to His anointed. He answers him from His Heavenly sanctuary with the victorious power of His right hand. Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the Name of the Lord our God. They are brought to their knees and fall, but we rise up and stand firm. Lord, give victory to the king!
Answer us when we call!
Most times, this Psalm is widely used for prayers when we are in distress. However, there are other times in our lives that this Psalm is highly effective. In this review, we will highlight five times you can use Psalm 20 in the place of prayer with relevant examples.
When You Are Trouble
This is the best time most believers use this Psalm for prayers. The first verse of the Psalm says: May the Lord hear thee in the days of trouble, may the name of the God of Jacob protect thee.
This is a prayer for help unto God in the moment of distress. The scripture made us understand that God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. When we are in the storm of life, we need the help of God. That’s why we cry to Him in our moment of need. The first verse of this Psalm states a prayer that we often consider essential. It says, May God hear you in the day of trouble, may the name of God of Jacob protect thee.
For the records, it is not everyone in need that God listens to. There are times when the presence of God is far from the place of prayer when we are in need. Some people have called upon the name of the lord, yet they were not saved. One prayer we must always say is that God should not forsake us when we are in trouble. When we enter into trouble, this is no doubt an excellent Psalm to use for prayer.
When You Need Help
The second verse of the Psalm states that May He send you help from the sanctuary and grant you support from Zion. The scripture says I will lift my eyes to the hills where will my help come from; my help will come from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth.
Another time we can use this Psalm for prayers is when we need Help. No man receives anything unless it is given from above. It is not enough to jump from pillar to post when we are in need. That’s the best time to pray to God. Go on your knees and call upon the name of the God of Jacob, use this Psalm for prayer, and accept your miracle.
When You Need God To Remember His Promise
The scripture made us understand that God is a rewarder of those that diligently seek Him. Your years of service and sacrifices must not go to waste. One of the things that move God is the sacrifice of man. Sacrifice in this context doesn’t mean the burnt offering and blood of a sheep. It means our relentless service to Him.
A verse in the book of Psalm 20 states that May He remember all your sacrifices and accept your burnt offerings. May He give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed. When God told Prophet Isaiah to inform Hezekiah to prepare his house because death was coming for him. Hezekiah went down on his knees and prayed fervently to God. He told God to remember his service and all his sacrifices to God, and right there, God told Isaiah to inform Hezekiah that his prayers have been answered and more years have been added to his life.
Sacrifice to God is like a covenant, and God doesn’t forget His covenant. God said over the children of Isreal that because of Jacob, my son, I would never forget my covenant with Isreal. God promises to give us an expected end. That’s why we must always pray to God for him to remember all His promises.
When You Want Victory
You can use Psalm 20 for a prayer of victory over challenges or confounding situations. Some portion of the Psalm stated that May we shout for joy over your victory and lift up our banners in the Name of our God. May the Lord grant all your requests. Now this I know: The Lord gives victory to His anointed.
This portion of the scripture emphasizes that God grants victory to His anointed. When you need victory over a situation, you can use this Psalm for prayers.
When You Trust God
Although you are in trouble, you are not dismayed, the storm may come raging at you, but you won’t be disturbed because you have put your trust in the Lord. The scripture says Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the Name of the Lord our God. They are brought to their knees and fall, but we rise up and stand firm. Lord, give victory to the king! Answer us when we call!
With your eyes, you behold the reward that put their trust in other gods. You will watch them scamper for help. But the Lord shall help you because you have put your trust in Him.
