Today we will be teaching on the five consequences of Ungodliness. This teaching will open the eyes of many people locked up in a prison of ungodliness. God wants to build a nation of righteousness through us; He wants to build an empire of undefiled priests. But most of us think righteousness is too costly. The enemy has won our soul to an extent we think is it outrightly impossible to be Godly. Well, we hope learning the five costs of ungodliness will help us change.
Five Consequences of Ungodliness
It Hinders Destiny From Manifesting
The ungodly act will cost you your destiny. There are so many people today who have failed purpose; their destiny has been destroyed due to ungodliness. Their destiny would have been destroyed if he went in with the wife of his boss.

At some point in life, our righteousness will be tested. We must endeavour to stand and keep standing come what may. One of the best ways we can keep standing is through the fear of God. Joseph feared God; that was why he could do what his master’s wife begged of him. He said, “There is no one greater in this house than I, nor has he kept back anything from me but you because you are his wife. How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?”
The moment Samson entered into sin, he turned into prey in the hands of the devil. The destiny of Samson was to be a liberator. Little wonder God gave him enormous physical power such that no one could defeat him. He had the strength of more than a thousand men. God instructed Samson not to marry a strange woman, but he refused. He went into sin with a strange woman, and that led to his fall. A great man became a slave to his enemies. A man who was supposed to save his people from the clutches of their enemies begged to die with his enemies. This is what ungodliness will cause you.
Regardless of how big your destiny is, no matter how close you are to fulfilling those destinies, once you deep hands into sin, the enemy gains power over you, and it won’t stop until that destiny has been destroyed.
It Hinders The Flow Of The Spirit
When we keep our hands in sin, it is an act of ungodliness. And the scripture makes us understand that the face of the lord is too righteous to behold sin.
We are spirit beings. God wants always to have access to man all the time. That’s why when God first created man, the spirit of God will descend in the cool of the evening to have a chat with the man. The essence of our creation is for fellowship. Unfortunately, man lost it that moment sin entered.
The moment Adam and his wife Eve sinned, they could no longer see God. Since that day, the spirit of God went farther from man. Also, let’s study the life of King Saul. The moment Saul entered into sin, the spirit of God departed from him, and evil spirits entered into him. Saul that once prophesied when he entered the midst of prophets could no longer speak to God. Instead, he went to invoke the spirit of Samuel to help him to talk to God.
This is quite similar to our lives. The moment we deep our hands into sin, we become ungodly. Meanwhile, the spirit of God will not dwell in a place filled with ungodliness. When this happens, we don’t experience the flow of the spirit as we used to, leading us to the third point.
Ungodliness Makes Us Slave
Proverbs 14:34 Righteousness exalts a nation, But sin is a reproach to any people.
Ungodliness makes us slaves. The devil will have a complete rule, and you won’t be able to free yourself from the devil. The devil will not want you to be free from the power of sin. That’s why he makes you think you have gone past the redemption point. The enemy will make you feel you can not be redeemed. That’s why instead of begging God for forgiveness, you rather indulge in the act of ungodliness.
It Leads To Death
Death here doesn’t mean physical death alone. It also means spiritual death.
When you continue in that ungodly act, your spiritual side starts to depreciate gradually. The physical doesn’t only mean the normal death as well. It means death in all ramifications. If you are a married person but still indulge in extramarital affairs, it will ruin your marriage. Your kids will suffer for it; your partner will suffer for it as well.
And because you have broken the covenant of the union, the blessing attached to it will cease from flowing. This can lead to divorce in marriage. With this, you put the future of your children at significant risk. And the end of it all is death, both physically and spiritually.
Eternal Damnation
What does it profit a man that gained the whole world but lost his soul? Our race on earth is not finished even after death. Because after death is judgement. Where will you spend your eternity? Meanwhile, you must know that eternity is too long to spend at the wrong place.
Ungodliness leads to eternal damnation. The eyes of a sinner can not behold His glory. The ungodly act will only land us in the lake of fire. It will cost us our eternity in paradise prepare by God for His people.
Conclusion
This is a call back to consciousness. Besides failing purpose, which is a very terrible thing, your eternity should be a thing of concern. If you suffer this much on earth without an assurance of a better place after death, that’s a double tragedy.
Meanwhile, it is not too late to return to the cross. It is not too late to seek the face of God for forgiveness. God is merciful enough to forgive us our sins. Return to God today.
