There are some sins present in our lives that could hinder our prayers even in the new year. That’s why we must pray for the forgiveness of sin. In fact, Forgiveness of sin should be the first prayer we pray in the new year. Any sin that may serve as a hindrance to the manifestation of God’s blessing over our lives, God should forgive us.

The scripture said, even if our sins are as red as scarlet, they shall be made whiter than snow. If our sins are as red as crimson, they shall be made whiter than wool. God is merciful enough to forgive us our sins.

Pray For Protection

2 Thessalonians 3:3 But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.

Before you start making demands for the new year, ask God for protection. This year we will be going out in pursuit of a better life, it is important we ask God for protection.

There have been so many prophecies about the new year. But when the protection of God is sure over us, we will be exempted from every evil that may come this year. The Lord has promised to mold a pillar of fire around his people. He has promised to be the protector of our Goshen. And if the Lord has promised to do something, He will surely do it regardless. Psalm 32:8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.

One of the mistakes we made last year was thinking speed is better than direction. Many people ran in the race of others. They forget that their path is different. They kept running because others are doing something great and they judged their lives with the achievement of others. That’s why they could not achieve much despite working tirelessly.

May I state the obvious fact that hard work doesn’t translate to success, and speed doesn’t make success quick. Direction is what we need. God is the author of our lives. He is the Alpha and Omega, the one who knows the beginning from the end and the end from the beginning.

When the Lord counsels us on the way to go, things naturally become easy for us. We make achieve things we never thought were possible. We would not run tirelessly for things that we would not get. And finally, we will never be weary or tired because our soul will find rest in the counsel of the Lord. In everything, pray for direction this year.

Pray For a More Solid Relationship With God

1 Corinthians 10:12 Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.

Another thing we must pray for is a more solid relationship with the Father. Surely, this year there shall be blessing, upliftment, and success. However, if care is not taken those things can sway us away from the presence of the Father.

Also, there will be tribulations. This can make us fall from the presence of the father. But when we have a more solid relationship with God, nothing will be more important than God. Our relationship with God will be such that if we perish we perish but we are not going to turn back from this way.

The general essence of our existence is to have, maintain and grow our relationship with God. This year must not be an exemption. Pray for a consistent relationship with God.

The scripture said because of His grace he made us right in his sight. That is what grace does to a man. When we are right in the sight of God, things will happen naturally and effortlessly. The things we chased throughout last year and could not get will come effortlessly.

The grace of God relieves stress in the life of a man. It means we will get unmerited blessings, success, favor, and achievements. The scripture says it is not of him that willeth or runneth but of God that showeth mercy. The grace of God is such that will eradicate every form of stress, pain, and agony from our lives.

When the grace of God is made eminent in our lives, we will understand the passage of the scripture that said by strength shall no man prevail. Grace will open every closed door in our lives this year.
