Today we will be dealing with 7 important reasons why we need to pray.

Prayer is important. It’s a key for a smooth and easy journey of a Christian with Christ. A life without prayer is like that without oxygen. Jesus strated and ended with prayer. Every little things Jesus did started and ended with prayer. Prayer has been saving many lives as far as we can remember. It was mentioned in the old testament that when people wanted to talk to God they go through the prophets meaning only the few selected priests and prophets had direct link to talk to God on behalf of the people. Only the prophet then had the access to go into the holy of holies as said in Hebrews 9:3,5-7 And after the second veil, the tabernacle which is called the Holiest of all; And over it the cherubims of glory shadowing the mercy seat; of which we cannot now speak particularly. Now when these things were thus ordained, the priests went always into the first tabernacle, accomplishing the service of God. But into the second went the high priest alone once every year, not without blood, which he offered for himself, and for the errors of the people:

The latter part of the verse 7 explained that the prophet had to offer himself for the errors of the people, but in the new testament, Jesus came and re established the law Hebrews 10:19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, we now have a free access to God. Jesus was sent to the world to save many both the believers and the unbelievers, after His death it was said that the veil in the temple was torn into two which signifies that restrictions people had has been destroyed by the blood of Jesus and His resurrection. The reasons above shows that Hid wants His children to talk to Him and communicate with Him at all times . When we pray it’s not only when we need something from God , but we should also pray to reference God and thank Him for His breath that is still making us living and a happy soul.

Prayer is a solemn request for help or expression of thanks addressed to God. Prayer is the quiet time a Christian have to meditate with their creator. Having a quiet time with God as a Christian is important to your christian journey as it helps you hear what God has to say concerning your life.

Important Reasons Why we Have to Pray;

Prayer welcome the presence of the holy spirit into your life and that of your household; After Jesus left, He promised to stay and abide with us as the holy spirit who will bring us comfort and peace, and will also teach us all things. But to welcome the holy spirit in our life, we need to pray. In the book of acts of the apostles Acts 2:1-4 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost,and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. This was able to happen because the disciples prayed and waited on Jesus instructions to them. This is what happens when we have a quiet time with God, He visits us and give us an encounter with Him which we assist us in our christian journey.

Prayer brings you closer to God and make God’s will your will; God told Jeremiah that He knew Him before he was born and God has a purpose for him to give him an expected end. When we walk with God we are sure to have a happy ending. Our will will be in alignment with God’s will because we are hearing directly from God. The purpose of prayer is to listen to God concerning your life and how God plans to help you achieve your goals while still in earth.

Prayer helps us to overcome temptations ; when we pray we have spiritual strength from God to avoid and overcome the devil. Praying brings spiritual help from above which quickens our fragile mind and help us win over our carnal flesh. The bible says to be carnally minded is death, but prayer spiritually strengthens our weak mind and kills the flesh for us which help us to have the strength to overcome temptations and win over sin. The bible says in Matthew 26:41

[41]Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. We need to pray to be able to overcome temptations.

Prayer helps you find directions in life;

Isaiah 45:2 I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron: God’s plans for us is worth waiting for, God is there to direct us and help us find our way, remember Jesus is the way, the truth and the life , no one serve Him and still get lost. When we pray to God He gives us directions and guidance.

Do we remember the story of the Paul and Silas in the bible, they were held captives in the prison, but the church prayed for them and they ( Paul and Silas) also prayer to God, and their miracle came. They were released and became Victorious. Another Instance in the bible were prayer brought about miracle was when the Hebrew brothers (Shedrach, Meshach, and Abednego) were thrown into the fiery pit of fire, it didn’t even touch them nor harm them, instead it was said that they saw an appearance which looked like that of the Son of God in their midst. When we pray miracles happen, shackles,chains, are broken and destroyed. Prayer brings signs and wonders and makes the devil powerless over our lives.

Prayer helps us to see God’s will for our lives; It gives us a sense of direction from God and through this we are able to follow the right path and not follow in the counsel of the ungodly.

Prayer helps us redeem the day;

Ephesians 5:16

Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. When we pray the presence of God goes with us and help us nullify all the evil that are in the day.
