Today we will be dealing with 10 scripture verses every mom should pray for their children. The essence of mothers’ prayer on their children can not be overemphasized. A woman shares a more emotional and spiritual connection with the children than the father. This explains why the prayers of the mother over their children is highly respected before God.

Every mother owes their children a duty of prayer. You don’t just sit back and watch the societal values influence the behaviour of your children. The scripture says train your child in the way of the Lord so that when he’s grown, he won’t depart from it. While it is important to train your child in the way of the Lord, it is also important to raise an altar of prayer for them.

When praying for your children, it is right that you pray with the scriptures. The scriptures give credence to our prayer as it carries the promises and covenant of God for His children. I will compile a list of scripture verses you can use to pray for your children as a mother. Also, you will get to understand how to use each verse of the scripture to pray for your children.

10 Scripture Verses Every Mom Should Pray For Their Children

Philippians 1:6 – “For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in your will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.”

Father, as you have started your good works in the life of my children, I pray that you shall complete them in the name of Jesus. As you have started to build my children in your way, I pray that you won’t leave the job halfway, you shall complete it in the name of Jesus.

Psalm 127:3-5 – “Behold, children are a gift of the Lord, the fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are the children of one’s youth. How blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them; They will not be ashamed when they speak with their enemies in the gate.”

Father Lord, I pray that you will keep my children for me and to your glory. Your word says like arrows in the hands of a warrior, so are the children of one’s youth. Father, I pray that the enemy will kill my children, the enemies shall not have power over my children in the name of Jesus.

3 John 4 – “I have no greater joy than this, to hear of my children walking in the truth.”

Father, my children will not walk in ignorance. They shall walk in the truth of God. They shall not be ignorant of the devil’s devices. The spirit of God shall be the light that lights their pathway in the name of Jesus.

Isaiah 54:13 – “All thy children shall be taught of the Lord; and great shall be the peace of Thy children.”

Lord, my children shall continue to serve you. No enemy will take them away from you in the name of Jesus. I pray that you will grant them peace of mind in all they do in the name of Jesus.

Psalm 90:17 – “Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us, and confirm for us the work of our hands; yes, confirm the work of our hands.”

I know the favor of God eradicates labour. I pray by the authority of heaven, the favor of God will be upon my children. Wherever they go on earth men shall favor them. Nations shall favor them in the name of Jesus.

2 Peter 3:18 – “But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.”

Father, I decree that my children shall continue to grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ. I pray that you shall grant them wisdom, knowledge and understanding from above. The scripture says if any man lack wisdom let him ask from God that gives liberally without blemish. I pray that you will equip my children with divine wisdom in the name of Jesus.

Psalm 138:8 – “The Lord will perfect that which concerns me; Your mercy, O Lord, endures forever; do not forsake the works of Your hands.”

Lord, I pray that you will perfect everything that concerns my children. Your words say your strength is made perfect in weakness. I pray that you shall help them in the moment of great weakness. I pray that your mercy will endure forever over them. My children are the work of your hands, I pray that you shall not forsake them when they call on you.

2 Thessalonians 3:3 – “But the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen and protect you from the evil one.”

Father, I pray that you will protect my children. Your word says the eyes of the Lord is always upon the righteous and his ears are always attentive to their prayers. I ask that by your mercy you will keep them. Every evil attack on their life is nullified in the name of Jesus. Every plan of the enemies to destroy them is destroyed in the name of Jesus.

Colossians 2:2 – “That their hearts may be encouraged, having been knit together in love, and attaining to all the wealth that comes from the full assurance of understanding, resulting in a true knowledge of God’s mystery, that is, Christ Himself.”

Father Lord, I pray that you will teach my children how to love one another. Grant them the spiritual understanding to know how to love even when it is very uncomfortable. I pray that you will grant them the right type of wisdom they need to live a purposeful life. I ask that you will equip them with the knowledge of God and you will make them understand the true nature of God.

Titus 3:5-6 – “He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior.”

Lord have mercy upon my children. I ask that as they grow you will continue to renew the holy spirit within them. I pray that sin and iniquity will not take them away from your presence. I ask that you will keep them standing in you till the very end in the name of Jesus.
