It Gives You The Sense of Purpose

The more we walk with God, the better we know Him. And the more we know Him, the more reveals to us. We must attain a level of faith before God can trust us with certain information and that’s why we must take our spiritual growth important. Not until we have reached a certain stage will God reveal things to us.

One of the things God will show to us is the purpose of our existence. And when we get a clear picture of our purpose, it makes our race easier to run.

God Will Trust Us With Task

You will recall that the apostles of Christ were picked and made to work with Christ throughout His sojourn on earth. God knows the purpose of their calling but they were not sent out immediately until they have reached the maturity stage.

Luke 24:49 And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high. Our level of growth in the spirit determines our level of strength and power. And until we reach that Maturity stage, God cannot trust us with certain task.

It Makes Us Formidable To Sin and Devil

As we walk with the Lord and we get more knowledge of Him, it brings light into our life. And the scripture said the light shine bright and darkness could not comprehend it. The knowledge of God brings us power and this power makes us particularly dangerous to the enemy.

Peter could not defend the faith because he was not spiritually matured. He betrayed Christ thrice even before the cock crows. But when he received power, he stood in front of multitude and defended the faith. When we grow spiritually, it makes us immune to sin and the devil. The devil will no longer be able to toss us around like the wind of doctrine.

Scriptural Prayers For Spiritual Growth

• Father Lord, just like the scripture says in the book of Philliapians 3:10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death. Lord, I want to continually know you. Grant the grace to know you better in the name of Jesus Christ.
• As the deer pants for the water, so also my soul pants for you. Lord, I ask that you shall not hide yourself from. Give me a deep revelation of who you are, grant me the grace to know you better in the name of Jesus Christ.
• Lord, I thirst and hunger for you, fill me till I can take no more in the name of Jesus Christ. Father, on my quest to know you better, I come against every spirit of laziness in the name of Jesus Christ.
• Father Lord, you have said in your word that those that thirst and hunger for righteousness shall be satisfied. I ask that by your mercy you fill me to the brim. I declare that the manifestation of your word is made eminent in my life in the name of Jesus Christ.
• Lord, I pray that you grant me the grace to discipline myself. I ask that by your mercy, you grant me the grace to stay focus in my quest to know you better. I come against every power of distraction that the enemy my be using against me in the name of Jesus Christ.
• Father, your word said we shall receive power when the holy ghost has come upon us. Father I receive power today in the name of Jesus Christ.
• Lord, I understand that I can’t attain a level of spiritual growth until I mature spiritually. Father, I pray for grace to attain spiritual maturity in the name of Jesus Christ.
• Lord, I pray that you shall dominate my mind in the name of Jesus Christ. Just like the things of the Lord dominated the heart of the Psalmist, I pray that you will grow your love in my heart so much that I will be totally consumed by the thought of you in the name of Jesus Christ.
• Lord Jesus, I ask that you take over the wheel of my life. I’m submitting everything to you completely. I’m letting go totally. I ask that you will direct my life on a path you want me to go in the name of Jesus Christ.
• Father, I pray for the renewal of my mind. I want you to find an expression through me. Lord, renew my mind so that I can always think the way you do, so I can always abide by your will and instructions in the name of Jesus Christ.
• Father, I pray that you shall make me to continually grow in the grace of your knowledge in the name of Jesus Christ.
