In every relationship, couples owe one another a duty of care, and we must learn how to support one another through prayers. Also, friends and families and well-wishers can support couples by praying for them. The journey of forever is too long for anyone to spend with a wrong person; hence we must help ourselves in prayer. For every relationship, God has a purpose for it. However, if the relationship should fail to yield good fruits, the purpose of God for it might be hindered. If couples will stay forever happy in a relationship, the bedrock of such a relationship must be built on Christ Jesus. God must be at the center of every relationship that should exist between couples.

God is interested in every relationship, just like He’s interested in our relationship with him. The purpose of our existence on earth is to have a consistent relationship with God. So, God has a great penchant for every relationship.

Just before anyone goes into a relationship, it is vital to seek the face of God for that relationship. A man must not be living in darkness when there is a God that can show light and tell us the purpose of everything. Even after seeking the face of God and you have His approval to go into that relationship, it is still important to always pray that the relationship will yield good fruits.

Also, as parents owe their children or wards a duty of prayer, whenever your son or daughter brings their spouse home, from that day, they deserve your prayer as parents. The prayer of parents has a powerful impact on the relationship life of their children.

It is also important to know some of the areas to focus on when praying for a couple’s relationships. The focus of our relationship should be centered around the following:

Prayer for Forgiveness

Lord Jesus, I pray that you will teach my spouse and me how to forgive one another. Grant unto the two of us the grace to forgive ourselves when we cross our one another.

Father Lord, teach us the process of forgiving one another. I know many times it is always difficult to forgive and forget almost immediately. But I believe with your help, you can teach us how to forgive ourselves.

Grant unto to us a peace of mind that we will not be tormented by the pain of the past in the name of Jesus.

I pray that you will teach us in your way to deal with conflicts between us, teach us how to forgive one another and move on with life. Help us to trust one another when we say we are sorry, grant us the grace to forgive ourselves just as you have forgiven us all our sins.

Prayer for Harmony/Unity

Father in heaven, I come before you this day that you will teach us in your ways that we may be united. For the scripture says, can two  together unless they agree? Lord, teach us how always to let the spirit of Harmony dwell in our midst in the name of Jesus.

I destroy every scheme of the devil to destroy my relationship by a lack of unity in the name of Jesus. I pray that you will teach us how to do things together, teach us how to make decisions together in the name of Jesus.

Father Lord, help us to do things in one accord so that the devil will not have a place in our midst in the name of Jesus.

Prayer for Perfect Communication

Lord Jesus, I pray that you will teach us how to speak with love and compassion, show us how to communicate with ourselves perfectly in the name of Jesus.

Father Lord, teach my spouse and me how to speak to one another with a good time that won’t birth anger. Teach us how to chastise ourselves with love in the name of Jesus.

Prayer for Undiluted love for God and one another

Father Lord, your word says we should love our neighbors as we love ourselves. Teach us how to love ourselves in the name of Jesus.

Lord Jesus, we ask that you will teach my spouse and I the perfect way to express our love in the name of Jesus. Give us the grace to love God dearly in the name of Jesus.

Prayer for Patience

Father Lord, I pray that you will teach my spouse and me how to be patient in a moment of trouble. Help us to trust more in you that even when we are in a hard situation, we will still believe that you have the power to save us.

Father Lord, I pray that you will give us the spirit of calmness, that we will be able to deal with ourselves with love in the name of Jesus.

Prayer for Tolerance

Lord Jesus, I know the relationship can be quite frustrating at some point, but I pray that you will grant us the grace to tolerate one another in the name of Jesus.

Father Lord, just like you tolerated all our excesses, in the same vein, I pray that you will teach us to tolerate one another excesses. You will grant us the grace to endure ourselves to the end in the name of Jesus.

General Prayer

Father Lord, I destroy every power that is planning to create enmity between my spouse and me, I wreck their powers in the name of Jesus.

Lord God, I pray for financial breakthrough for my spouse, in everything that he does, I pray that you will bless him in the name of Jesus.

Heavenly Father, I pray for the grace that will keep us together in love till the end in the name of Jesus.

I decree that your protection will be upon the life of my spouse in the name of Jesus. Every scheme of the enemy to make me mourn over him/her is destroyed in the name of Jesus.

Lord, we decree that our fruits shall be blessings to the world. We refuse to birth vagabonds in the name of Jesus.

The scripture says our children are for signs and wonders, Lord, every offspring that will come out from this relationship are sanctified for signs and wonders in the name of Jesus.
