Proverbs 18:24:
A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.
Friendship is by choice, its not by force. Today we are going to be looking at bible verses about friendship. There is a wise saying that says ” show me your friends and I will show you who you are” One of the greatest factors that will influence our future is the friends that we keep. As believers, we must never take the subject of friendship lightly. Your friends can make you or mar you. So the purpose of these bible verses about friendship is to show us from the bible who a true friend should be and the qualities of a good friend.

The bible is our manual for living, as believers we must have a good understanding of friendship in the bible in order for benefit from our relationship with others. For instance the bible admonishes us not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers, 2 Corinthians 6:14. So when choosing your friends, you don’t have any business making friends with unbelievers. That doesn’t mean you won’t respect them or show them love, but it means you won’t tag along with them and do what they do. The teaches us to hate sin, but to love sinners, to hate evil, but to show love to evil doers when we have the opportunity.
