Today we will be teaching ourselves on 20 Promises of God to pray when you need courage and strength. Sometimes in life, we are struck by different challenges. When this happens, our strength is reduced to a reasonable extent. To forge ahead, we need courage and strength. As believers, the best motivation for strength and courage is the word of God. In the book of Matthew 24:35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.
This portion of the Bible is an assurance for us that regardless of the situation we find ourselves, the promises of God is sure. So, when we need courage and strength in life, here are 20 Promises of God in the scripture we can pray with.
The Promise of Good Things Happening to Us Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
This portion of the scripture will give us hope, strength and courage that God’s plan for our life is good and at the end, everything will be good.

The promise of rest – Matthew 11:28-29
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
God has promised to give us rest. When you are burdened with the trouble of life, when you have laboured yet you have nothing to show for it, go back to God for rest. He has promised to give us rest.
The promise of peace through the Holy Spirit – John 14:27
I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.
When your heart is troubled and you can’t find peace, study the book of John 14:27. God has promised to give us peace of mind through the holy spirit.
The promise of salvation – Romans 10:9
If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Do you think your life has ended because you feel unsaved? God has promised us salvation through Christ Jesus. All you need to do is confess with your mouth that Jesus is lord.
The promise of health and healing – Jeremiah 30:17
For I will restore health to you and heal you of your wounds,’ says the Lord. When you are sick and it seems the sickness will not go.
Study the book of Jeremiah 30:17, God has promised to restore our health. Your derailing health will be restored to normal.
The promise of Wisdom and Understanding – James 1:5
“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
Are you confused because you don’t know what to do? The scripture says if any man lacks wisdom let him ask from God that gives liberally. He has promised to endow us with wisdom to solve difficult situation.
The Promise to Defend Us and Our Children – Isaiah 49:25
For I will contend with him who contends with you, and I will save your children.
When you feel that your life or that of your seed is in danger, know that God has promised to contend with them that contend with you and he will save your children from crushing hands of death.
The promise of peace – Isaiah 26:3
You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.
Put your mind on the lord and he will restore peace in your heart. You will not be troubled.
The Promise of Victory Over Temptations of The Enemy – 1 Corinthians 10:13
No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.”
God has promised to grant you strength to overcome any temptation of the enemy
Promises for safety – Proverbs 18:10
The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.
When you feel your life is threatened, know that the name of the lord is a strong tower. When you call on the Lord, you will be saved.
The Promise To End And Death, Sorrow, and Pain – Revelation 21:4
And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death,nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.
Tears and death shall be taken away. There shall be no sorrow, nor crying.
God Promise Us Eternal Life – 1 John 2:25
And this is the promise that He has promised us—eternal life.
This is the assurance that we have in him that even if we die, we live in him. Our home is up on high and he has promised to give us everlasting life.
God Promise To Forgive Us – 1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
The devil sometimes uses our sin to draw us back from God. When you feel you have been drawn away from God, confess your sins and you will be forgiven.
God Promise To Release Blessings Psalm 84:11
For Jehovah God is our Light and our Protector. He gives us grace and glory. No good thing will He withhold from those who walk along his paths.
No good thing shall be withdrawn from us. God has promised to grant us all blessings that is due to us.
We Have Eternal Life In Christ 2 Corinthians 5:17
This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!
If you are being weigh down by the atrocities of the past, know that old things are passed away. When a man is in Christ, old things has passed away.
God Promise To Fight For Us – Exodus 14:14
The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.
The battle belongs to the lord and he will fight it. Just wait and bask in your victory.
God Promise To Help Us – Isaiah 41:13
For I am the LORD your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.
Whenever you need help, know that help will come from God.
The Promise That Our Prayers Will Be Answered – Mark 11:24
Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
This is the assurance we have that when we pray God will answer us.
The Grace Of God Is Sufficient For Us – 2 Corinthians 12:9
But he said to me,“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.
The grace of God is sufficient. Study the book of 2 Corinthians 12:9 to learn more about grace.
God Promise Provision Philippians 4:19
And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
God has promised to provide all our needs according to his riches in glory.
