Prayer Points To Overcome Greed

Today we will be dealing with prayer points to overcome greed. According to the new Webster dictionary of English, greed is defined as the intense and selfish desire for something especially wealth, power and food. Greed is a dangerous habit that must be subdued if a man is to fully attain his full potentials. Let’s quickly look at the story of Esau and Jacob. The greediness of Esau made him forfeit his position as the elderly simply because he wants to have a plate of pottage.

One of the negative effects of greed is that it disrupt the peaceful achievement of greater things. A greedy person will never see any great potential in himself or herself. They will always consider other people greater than them. Greediness can lead to war as explained in the book of Proverbs 28:25 The greedy stir up conflict, but those who trust in the Lord will prosper. A man who is greedy can go any length to achieve something even if it will require that he forsake God in the process. Little wonder the book of Luke 12:13-15 further explain what should be done to greed’ we should watch out and be on guard against all kinds of greed. 

God understands that a greedy man will not be thankful. Instead of him to give thanks to God for the things and blessings he has received, he would rather complain to God about things he has not received yet. Whereas, his situation is a lot better than some other persons own. It was greeted that made Saul see David as threats despite being the king. Greed reduces a man. King Saul at one point never saw himself as the ruler of Isreal, he left all his adminstrative duties and focus only on getting rid of David. This was because David successfully killed Goliath and people hailed him for that. King Saul didn’t see this as a problem until he was destroyed by this demon called greed.

Similarly, Judas Iscariot was consumed by the spirit of greed. This explains why he never see any wrong in revealing who Jesus was for money. Judas didn’t notice his weakness was greed until he was destroyed by it. We must identify that one of our weaknesses is greed. The feeling of unsatisfaction to acquire wealth, power and other things we consider needed for living. Once we have identified this as our problem, then we are on the path to finding a solution to it.

When find a solution, the power of prayers can not be overemphasized. If you are to successfully put an end to this bad attitude, prayer is highly needed. I decree by the authority of heaven, every spirit of greed in your life is consumed by the fire of the Holy Ghost. I declare your freedom from this evil spirit in the name of Jesus.

Prayer Points:

• Father Lord, I come before the throne of grace today that I may obtain mercy from the high priest of heaven. I ask that by your mercy that endure forever you will forgive me all my sins and iniquities in the name of Jesus. I pray that by the virtue of the blood that was shed on the cross of Calvary you will watch away my sins completely in the name of Jesus.
• Lord, the scripture says he that hide his sins will not prosper, but he that confess them will find compassion. Lord my life has been overwhelmed by the spirit of greed, I have done so many evil things because of this feeling of unsatisfaction. I have not been able to thank you lord for the great things you have done, Instead I complain bitterly on the things you have not done. Lord Jesus, I pray that you will help in by your mercy in the name of Jesus.
• Lord, I destroy every form of problem that entered into my life as result of greediness, I cancel this problems in the name of Jesus. Lord, in every ways that the enemy has been tormenting my life as a result of greed, I pray that by the fire of the Holy Ghost, such torment meet their end in the name of Jesus.
• Father Lord, I destroy every evil arrow that has been sent into my life to destroy my existence. Every spirit of greed that has been thrown into my life to cause me to fail purpose, I destroy you today in the name of Jesus.
• Lord Jesus, I ask that by your mercy, you will teach me how to identify this spirit of greed. I ask that your Holy Spirit and power will overshadow my life and by the virtue of the power of the holy ghost the spirit of greed will have no place in my life anymore in the name of Jesus.
• Lord God, I pray that you will grant me the spirit to be contented. Grant me the grace to bask in my contentment. Give me the grace to set my focus on the things that you have done with the hope and assurance that you will still do the things I have always look unto you for in the name of Jesus.
• Father Lord, in every ways that the enemy wants to limit my progress in life via the spirit of greed, I pray that you will save me today in the name of Jesus. I refuse to miss my place like Esau missed his in name of Jesus. I pray that you will help me so I won’t be consumed by the spirit of greed in the name of Jesus.
• The word of the lord says, my God will supply all of my needs according to his riches in glory through Christ Jesus. I come against every spirit of doubt in my mind that may cause me to chase after the things of life and forsake the race of heaven in the name of Jesus.
• I pray for the undiluted invasion of the holy ghost in my life, the power of the holy ghost that will completely destroy every works of the enemy, I pray that it come mightily into my life in the name of Jesus. The scripture says when the spirit come upon you, it shall quicken your mortal body. I pray that my mortal body shall be quickened by the power of the Holy Ghost, in the name of Jesus.
• Lord, I declare that greed will not hinder me from progressing in the name of Jesus. As I step into the career that has been destined for me, as I step into my destiny, greed shall not make me fall in the name of Jesus.
• Every spirit of greed that has vowed to make me fall back in the race and pursuit of heaven, I destroy you today by the power in the name of Jesus. The scripture says let he that thinks he stands take heed unless he falls, I refuse to fall in the name of Jesus.
• The scripture says be worry for nothing but in everything through supplications prayers and thanksgivings make your request known to God. Lord, I thank you for helping me overcome the power of greed. I thank you for the grace you have bestowed on me to overcome greed. I thank you for your mercy. It is by your mercy that I’m not consumed, Lord, let your name be exalted in the name of Jesus.
