Prayer Points To Overcome Depression As Believer

Today we will be dealing with prayer points to overcome depression as a believer. Depression is a wrong psychological state of mind that affects the brain and heart simultaneously. Over the years, depression has been the biggest cause of suicide among young people. It is sad to note that the male gender suffer the biggest brunt of this manace.

One mistakes that most believers make is think being a believer is an escape from depression. Anyone can be depressed even the greatest man of God on earth. This explains why depression should not be taken likely. There are so many things that cause depression for a believer. Some it include financial crisis, deep wallow in sin and Iniquity, failure, fear and stigma cause also lead to depression.

While it has been stated that anyone can be depressed whether believer or not. However, what separates a believe from others is the spirit of God. The spirit of God is always available to help us in our state of depression. Apostle Peter experienced depression after he denied Christ thrice before the cock crawls. He felt bad about what he has done and he felt some sort of isolation from the rest due to what he has done. However, he was able to find his way back to God through the help of God. Meanwhile, Judas Iscariot was consumed by depression that he took his own life. He could not bear the brunt of what he has done to Christ, he allowed the heaviness of his depression to take a heavy one on him, that led to his death.

Depression is normal for everyone regardless of status or calibre. Getting out of it is what makes the difference. The scripture makes us understand that the holy spirit is a comforter. When we are depressed, the best thing we need at that moment is a comforter. We need something or someone that will sooth our pain and take away the anguish from out hearts. That what makes us different as a believer, we have the holy spirit to help us out of any situation. When you feel depressed or withdrawn from the outside world, please say the following prayers.

• 2 Timothy 1:7 For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.” Lord, I pray that your spirit will save me from any form of anxiety in the name of Jesus. I come against every form of fear and timidity in my heart in the name of Jesus.
• Philippians 4:6-7 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” I pray that your peace that surpasses the understanding of man will come into my life in the name of Jesus.
• The scripture says no weapon fashion against me shall prosper. Lord, I destroy every arrow of anxiety and worry that has been sent into my life from the pit, I decree that they shall not have power over me in the name of Jesus.
• I pray that the wind of God will sweep out every form of fear radiating in my heart today in the name of Jesus. For it has been written, we have not been given the spirit of fear but of Sonship to cry Ahba father. I come against fear and anxiety in life today in the name of Jesus.
• Lord Jesus, I pray that you will overshadow my life with your love. Your love supercede the understanding of men. I pray that even when I face rejection and isolation from the people around, your love will make my heart find peace and acceptance in the name of Jesus.
• Lord, every difficult situation in my life that is causing pain and anxiety, I pray that you shall take them away today in the name of Jesus. Lord every battle in my life, every challenges confronting me, I pray that your power will grant me victory over them today in the name of Jesus.
• Lord, any problem in my marriage that is bringing sadness to my heart, I pray that you will solve them today in the name of Jesus. Your word made me understand that many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the lord is faithful to rescue him from all of them. Lord, I pray that you shall resolve every challenges in my marriage in the name of Jesus.
• Lord, every form of failure and dissappointment that is causing pain and anger in my life, I pray that they shall be solved in the name of Jesus. Lord, I pray that you shall release a soothing balm on every pain in my life today in the name of Jesus.
• Father Lord, in every areas of my life that I’m facing financial tribulations, I pray that provisions come in the name of Jesus. It has been written God will supply all my needs according to His riches in glory through Christ Jesus, I pray that my financial tribulation is taken away in the name of Jesus.
• Lord, I pray that you will fill my life with love, satisfaction and contentment. Lord, I refuse to run in the race of others in the name of Jesus. Grant me the grace to bask in my contentment in the name of Jesus.
• Lord, every depression over my deteriorating health is destroyed in the name of Jesus. I speak my healings into reality in the name of Jesus. I come against every power of sickness over my life in the name of Jesus.
• Lord, I rebuke depression in the name of Jesus. I cancel every hold of depression in my life today in the name of Jesus.
• Every root of depression in my life catch fire today in the name of Jesus. I speak in the name that is above all other names, every iota of sadness in my life is taken away in the name of Jesus.
