The scripture houses the word of God that He has inspired men to write. Studying the scripture helps us understand the nature of God and the things of the spirit. Reasonably, it is wise to expose the kids to the Bible at an early age. Sunday school is one of the ways to teach children about God and scripture. While it might be difficult for them to understand some mysteries about the scripture, there are fun facts they can learn.
Children love to learn at ease. They want to laugh even while learning. Interestingly, there are so many things in the scripture that are fun for the kids to learn from. As a Sunday school teacher, it is important to learn some fun facts in the Bible that you can teach your kids next Sunday. In view of that, we have compiled 6 fun facts in the Bible for Sunday school kids. We hope you find them useful in exposing the children to the knowledge of God.

6 Fun Facts In The Bible For Sunday School Kids
A Man Lived For 969 Years Before He Died
Genesis 5:27 And all the days of Methuselah were nine hundred sixty and nine years: and he died.
This is one of the fun facts in the scripture that will thrill children. It negates their knowledge of life and death and they will keep wondering how a man can live up to 969 years before death. They will laugh hard and find it difficult to believe until you read it out from the scripture.
This will let them know that there are different generations of men. And there was a time that men lived longer and healthily than we do now. It will open up their minds to many questions during the class.
Two Men Never Died
Genesis 5:24 And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.
2 Kings 2:11 And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.
This sounds strange even to older adults. How is it possible for a man not to die? The scripture recorded that Enoch walked with God and he was perfect. And it was God that took, he didn’t taste death.
Also, Elijah was driven to heaven with a chariot of fire. This will outrightly betray their knowledge of life. It is a mystery that you will have to unfold to them as their teacher.
They might be forced to ask what they can do so their story can end like that of Elijah or Enoch. Then you teach them to follow Jesus and obey all his biddings.
There was a man taller than a tree
1 Samuel 17:4 And there went out a champion out of the camp of the Philistines, named Goliath, of Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span.
Don’t be surprised when your kids stand in the class to measure their heights. Let them know that the name of the man was Goliath and he greatly tormented the people of God due to his physical strength.
But, that would not answer the question of how a man can be taller than a tree. You should try to explain to them.
A small boy killed a Giant with a stone
1 Samuel 17:33 And Saul said to David, Thou art not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him: for thou art but a youth, and he a man of war from his youth.
1 Samuel 17:48-50 And it came to pass, when the Philistine arose, and came, and drew nigh to meet David, that David hastened, and ran toward the army to meet the Philistine. And David put his hand in his bag, and took thence a stone, and slang it, and smote the Philistine in his forehead, that the stone sunk into his forehead; and he fell upon his face to the earth. So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and with a stone, and smote the Philistine, and slew him; but there was no sword in the hand of David.
This is funnily interesting. How can a small boy kill a giant with a stone? explain to them that it was God that worked the wonders. Let them know that God is powerful and he can use anyone to do the impossible.
Teach them so they can know that if they submit themselves totally to God, He can greatly use them for many things that are considered impossible by men.
Amazing way to know the number of books in the Bible
The scripture is of two parts, the old and new testaments. Each testament has a total number of books. In total there are 66 books in the Bible. You can teach them these amazing ways to calculate and know the number of books in the Bible.
Tell them to remember these two numbers 3 and 9
Bring the two numbers together you get 39. There are 39 books in the Old Testament.
Multiply 3 by 9 and you get 27. There are 27 books in the New Testament.
Add 39 and 27 together you get 66. There are 66 books in the Bible.
The serpent is important in the Bible story
Genesis 3:1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
Revelation 20:2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years.
Teach them that they may know that the serpent represents evil. The first book of the scripture Genesis talked about the serpent deceiving the woman which became the cause of every evil happening in the world today.
And the last book of the scripture, Revelation talked about the destruction of the serpent. That means God will destroy the enemy of man in the end.
