Today we shall be engaging in prayer for the nation of Rwanda. Officially the Republic of Rwanda, it is a country in central and East Africa and one of the smallest countries on the African mainland. It is the best performing country in East and central Africa and the third easiest place to do business in Africa, it is also leading in Africa’s digital revolution.

The nation was colonized by Germany in 1884, while Belgium also invaded it in 1916 during World war1. They have low corruption compared to other neighbouring countries in Africa. They have a few natural resources and their economy is based mostly on subsistence agriculture using simple tools.
One of their major setbacks is the issue of over population. The people of Uganda are majorly Christians who have misinterpreted God’s instruction for them to multiply, and so they’ve gone ahead to give birth to more and more children that they are not able to cater for. Not that the economy was below standard, but it isn’t enough for the number of people in the country.
They also have issues of youth unemployment and an overdependence on the government.

It shares border with South Sudan to the North West, Ethiopia to the North, Somalia to the East, Uganda to the West, Tanzania to the South and the Indian Ocean to the South-East. Kenya is no doubt one of the most blessed countries in the world. She pride herself as one of the biggest exporters of coffee and many other consumables.

Unlike some other African countries, Kenya has never withnessed or experienced any form of civil crisis. As a matter of fact, the political system of governance in Kenya has been more stable than any other East African countries. Also, Kenya boasts of one of the largest economies in Africa. The total GDP of Kenya stands at $190.970 billion and $3,867 Per capital. Little wonder, the life expentancy of Kenya competes with some of the highly civilized climes.
Judging by all the facts, one might begin to wonder why it is still important to say a prayer for the nation of Kenya?

Truth be told, most of these facts and figures about the nation’s economy are just mere statistic. They do not entirely represent the actual reality of things happening in the campestral jungle and valley of Kenya. In recent reports, it was discovered that of the entire population of Kenya, about half of her populace live below the poverty line. What is with African nations with good economy but highly impoverished citizens?

Psalms 133:1 “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity”!
The unity of Kenya is threatened by tribalism. Our prayer can save the Nation from the biggest enemy of herself.

Despite the political stability and easy transition of government in Kenya, the country is still not in the right state. Instead of seat back and complain about the government, why not direct such energy towards praying for the government. The Bible says made us to understand that wisdom is profitable to direct, as citizens and lover of our nation, we can seek the wisdom of God for our rulers. James 1:5 “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him”. We should understand that the problem that the government faces at times confuse them. There is a need for citizens to raise an altar of prayers for them.

Despite being one of the fastest-growing economies in Africa, Ethiopia still has poverty to contend with. Ethiopians have seen abject poverty flourish on their land and they seem helpless about. Prayer for the Nation of Ethiopia will save the country from the greatest enemy of her own self.
