Psalms 110:3 Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth.

Power is what seperates Christianity from other religions of the world. Power in this context talks about, spiritual authority, over the devil and his devils, also over circumstances of life. Every believer who does not manifest power will always be at the mercies of the devil and the elements of this world. Today we shall be looking at fasting and prayers for the rain of power. All through scriptures, we see how God manifested power over the enemies of His children the Isrealites. The book of Exodus is full of the various manifestations and displays of Gods power over pharoah, when he refused to let Isreal Go. In the Old testament, we also saw power manifested in the lives of Moses, Joshua, Samson, Elijah, Elisha, David etc.

The New testament was not an exception, Jesus was born through the raw manifestation of Power, a virgin conceived and gave birth to our Lord. All through His (Jesus) life on earth, He manifested Power and when He was about to ascend to heaven, he said the following to His disciples:

Matthew 28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

He also said:

Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

How To Receive Power

Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

The only language the devil understands is the language of power. A christian without power, will always be a victim of dark forces and natural forces. Your breakthrough starts where your manifestation of power starts and it stops where your manifestation of power stops. Now how do we receive power?

 The New birth Experience:

The day you recieved Jesus Christ as your Lord and eternal saviour is the day you recieved power. The day you got born again, the Holy Spirit came inside you to dwell in your Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the source of Power, that is Spiritual authority. Every child of God has the Holy Spirit, therefore every child of God carry power on their inside. Mark 16:17-18 tells us this:

Mark 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 16:18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

You see that? as believers, we are ordained to manifest spiritual authority over devils and the circumstances of Life. The sad truth still remains, many Chrstians are unaware of their powerful status in Christ, many do not know that the possess spiritual authority over the devil and principalities and powers. I love what the word of God says in Ephesians 1:20-22 and Ephesians 2:5-6, please let us just take a look at this scriptures:

Ephesians 1:20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, 1:21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: 1:22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,

Ephesians 2:5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) 2:6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

From the above Scriptures, you see that as believers, we are seated in the same seat of power as Christ Jesus. Therefore whtsoever, cannot defeat Christ, cannot defeat you, whatsoever cannot subdue Christ, cannot subdue you.Just as Jesus Christ dominated every powers in His lifetime on Earth, that is how you and i should live in dominion. Now how can we access this power?

How To Access Power?

Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

There are three primary ways a believer can access the Power within. They are:

1. Faith: The power of God inside you can only be accesed by faith. God is not a magician, He is a faith God, He operate only in a faith flled environment. For you to manifest His powers inside you, you must exercise your faith. Jesus always said ‘be it to you according to your faith’ This means your measure of faith determines the measure of Power you manifest in your life. Romans 10:17, tells us that faith cometh by hearing and understanding the word of Christ. Therefore to develop your faith, you must be a student of the word of Christ.

2. Speaking: The second way to access the power inside you is through your mouth. Speaking is an expression of the Spirit of Faith 2 Corinthians 4:13. A closed mouth is a closed destiny, therefore you must speak to your situations according to the word of God. If you desire healing, speak healing, if you desire breakthrough, speak breakthrough. Mark 11:24 makes us understand that we shall have what we say.

3. Doing:

Joshua 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe TO DO according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

Doing the word is a major way to access power. The bible says be not hearers of the word only, but doers of the word, James 1:22. You only see the power of God manifest in your life when you put the word of God to Work. It is the Word of God at work in you, that works wonders through you.

How To Activate Power

Fasting and Prayers is the only way to activate the power of God inside your spirit. Fasting is denying the flesh or body of its worldly desires, while praying is connecting to God through your Spirit. Fasting and prayers weakens the flesh and strengthens the Spirit. The Holy Spirit dwells in our Spirit. The reason why many believers cannot hear God is because there are too many worldly signals coming from their flesh, these signals clouds their soul and prevents them from hearing God clearly. In Matthew 6, Jesus warned us not to be bothered about the cares of life, food , cloths and shelter, rather, he told us to seek Him and His kingdom and all these things will naturally come to us.

Fasting and prayers, does not give you power, it only helps you to activate the power of God already inside you. It does that by keep your spirit man in tune to the frequency of God. As a Pastor, when you fast and pray, you become more impactful on the altar when you are preaching the word of God.Asa believer, when you fast and pray concerning any situation, your spiritual eyes is opened to see the solution to that challenge. Prayer Points

1. Father, I thank You for You are the God of all flesh in Jesus name

2. Father, I thank you for enduing me with power at new birth in Jesus name

3. Father, i enter boldly into your throne of Grace to recieve Mercy in Jesus name

4. I declare boldly today that i am empowered by the Holy Spirit to Subdue all powers in Jesus name.

5. The Spirit of God is at work in me, therefore nothing from the devil can harm me in the name of Jesus

6. I declare today that the Healing power of God is at work in me, therefore any sick person i lay my hands on shall recieve instant healing in the name of Jesus

7. Dear Holy Spirit, baptise me afresh with your rain of power in Jesus name

8. I declare that i am seated with Christ, far above all principalities and powers in Jesus name

9. I declare my dominion over all witchcraft powers in Jesus name.

10. I declare my dominion over poverty in Jesus name

11. I declare my dominion over sickeneses and diseases in Jesus name

12. Sweet Holy Spirit, impact me afresh withsgns and wonders in Jesus name

13. Dear Holy Spirit, confirm every word of faith from my mouth from this day henceforth in Jesus name.

14. Engrace me Lord to be a student of your word in Jesus name

15. Father, teach me to die to self in the name of Jesus.

16. I declare my dominion over every satnic hindrances in Jesus name

17. Dear Lord, i renew my strenght in You in Jesus name

18. Holy Spirit, transform all my weaknesses to strenght in Jesus name

19. Annoint my tongue with the coal of fire Lord, in Jesus name

20. Now begin to pray in tongues, pray in tongues for minimum 5 minutes.
