Today we will be teaching the 5 things to know about eternal life. Death is one of the most feared human enemies. It is so funny how everyone claims they want to go to heaven yet no one wants to die. Many people want to live eternally, they don’t want to taste death. That’s why people run helter-skelter when they hear anything death.
Eternal life as promised is a gift of God to those that served God through Christ Jesus. The scripture said in the book of John 3:16 For God so love the world that He gave His only begotten son that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life. The world everlasting life means life eternal. A type of life that is free from death. Having explained what eternal life is, it is important to state some things people should know about eternal life. It appears many think eternal life is all about not dying. It is more than that. It goes beyond living healthily with a sound mind and all the riches of life.

5 Things To Know About Eternal Life
Eternal Life Doesn’t Mean You Will Live Forever
Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment.
One of the misconceptions about eternal life is the thought that it means life without death. Eternal life doesn’t make you immune to the physical death that everyone fears most. You will die like everyone did and will do. However, eternal life is the life that happens after this present life.
Our focus ought to be on the afterlife. But, sadly, the things of the world have entrapped our hearts that we have lost focus about the afterlife. The major reason why many people pray against death is not that they are so scared of death or meeting God, but because they feel they have not enjoyed life well.
Regardless of how much you protect your life here, you will die because it is appointed for a man to die once and after that is judgment. So when you hear eternal life, it doesn’t make you immune to physical death. It only protects you against eternal death. After death is Judgement where God will receive His people and put them in paradise where they will blissfully live for everlasting. That is the eternal life God promised.
It Can’t Be Earned By Riches
You may have read about how rich men in the world are building a paradise on another planet. This is what riches can do for men while here on earth. But the life everlasting can not be earned with silver or gold, it is earned by our deeds, believing that Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and light. Believe that no one goes to the Father except through Him.
So, as against the natural protocol of man that answers to the rich and might first, eternal life will be earned based on merits and not based on riches. That’s why everything we do here on earth matters in the afterlife.
Jesus Is The Only Way
John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
If you are curious to know how you can earn life everlasting, Christ is the way. Christ said no one goes to the Father except through him. The book of John 3:17-18 further explains it. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. “He who believes in Him is not condemned, but he who does not believe is condemned already because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
Christ has died on the cross. He made himself a sacrifice so we can gain access to live everlasting. The scripture explained that God didn’t send his son to the world to condemn the world, but the world should be saved through Him. This is therefore a call to everyone who has not received Christ as personal Lord and savior. Accept Jesus today so your name can be written in the book of life.
There Is No Pain And Suffering
Our pain and suffering end here on earth. When we get to heaven where Christ is the brightness that lights the day, there shall be no more pain or suffering. That’s why the scripture said in the book of Romans 8:18For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
Even what we consider as joy and happiness here on earth is nothing compared to what we will have in life everlasting. Eternal life is where we reign with Christ. Every enemy of men like death, sickness, pain, and sorrow will be defeated. How great will it be to witness this type of life where you won’t have to struggle. You won’t work to pay bills, you won’t have to meet the doctor like you have been doing, there will be no pain, no sickness, and death.
You Will See Jesus
This is the most interesting part about eternal life. Many of us have read so much about Christ Jesus that we can’t wait to meet him. May I announce to you that we will see him in flesh and blood? Christ will reveal himself to us all in life everlasting.
We will meet the saints like Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. We will meet all of them in paradise. That’s why we must do all we can to be a member of paradise.
Heaven rejoices when a sinner repents. If you are yet to accept Christ as your Lord and Savior, you can do that now.
Say this; Lord Jesus, I come before you this day, forgive my sins, and remove my name from the book of death. Grant me the grace to follow you and give me the attitude to always do your bidding. Write my name in the book of life and grant me the grace to reign with you in life everlasting. Amen.
