Being one of the smallest countries in Africa, Eswatini positioned itself in the heart of the the Southern part of the African continent. Formerly known as Swaziland, the country adopted a new name (Eswatini) as recently as last year. The country’s population is about 1.1 million people, about 26% of the population are youths between the ages of 15-year-old to 49-year-old.

Eswatini gained her independence from the control of colonialism (Great Britain) in 1968, and since then, the country’s men has been in the sphere of leadership of the nation’s affair.
The country is a landlock one, hence, there are no connecting rivers linking the country to the outside world. Having said that, the economy of Eswatini is considered to be a middle-class one. This statistics could only mean that the nation is not doing too well in economy and human development.

Zimbabwe, a South African nation blessed with precious stones (as the name implies- Great house of stone), Rivers (river Zambezi and Limpopo), Victoria falls (one of the seven wonders of the world, Zimbabwe’s famed attraction), wildlife and a good soil for agriculture, is a landlocked country Surrounded by Botswana, Mozambique, South Africa and Zambia.

She ceremonially got her independence from the United Kingdom on 18th April 1980, moved on with her affairs and enjoyed the good times of her independence until the early 2000 when her economy began to decline and her name became something else. Inflation became prevalent in the nation, corrupt leaders mismanaged national funds, poverty rate increased, violence increased and number of out of school children drastically increased.

WHY YOU SHOULD PRAY FOR ZIMBABWE

Prayer is a means by which one draws on a higher/supernatural power or force. It is a means by which man shows is not sufficient on his own. Behold, I am the LORD, God of all flesh, is there anything too hard for me? (Jeremiah 32: 27). This bible passage brings to our knowledge that God has dominion over all flesh and hears all flesh (including Zimbabweans) and no man can successfully do anything except God is involved because he created the Havens and the Earth (Genesis 1:1) and he will provide answers to all supplication diligently asked.

Pray that God will restore Zimbabwe to the good old days where there was true liberty. Pray that God will from hence forth be involved in the affairs of Zimbabwe for a better Zimbabwe, a better Africa and a better Universe. When things are well in Zimbabwe, the burden of the world will be reduced.

There has been previous government in Zimbabwe that tried all it could to restore her back to what she used to be even if they could not make her better, but failed due to some decisions they made. Something went wrong somewhere at a particular point which resulted to the Zimbabwe we have today. Unless the Lord builds the house, they labour in vain who build it; unless the Lord guards the city, the watchman stays awake in vain (Psalms 127: 1). The leaders can only try to make the nation better, but without God, it would be difficult. Let’s pray that God will rebuild Zimbabwe through her leaders in Jesus name.

God is the giver of good wisdom; pray that God will equip the leaders of Zimbabwe with the wisdom from heaven above in other to diligently direct/control the affairs of Zimbabwe. For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there. The citizens of Zimbabwe are in abject poverty as they are suffering from the effect of Hyper-inflation (a high level of inflation which is the state where too much money is in circulation or in the economy). A lot of money is needed to buy things of small quantity. Pray that God will uphold the citizens of Zimbabwe and also provide for their needs. And my God shall supply all your needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4: 19).

There is a lot of turbulence in the economy of Zimbabwe, various economy ban, impoundments and sanctions which makes it a no go area for investors worldwide. All these have led to the limitations of the Zimbabweans as a whole. Investors are not willing to invest in the economy and those willing are limited due to various sanctions owing to Zimbabwe Government policy.

Today we shall be engaging in prayer for the nation of Liberia. Liberia is located in the western part of Africa. Liberia is one of the countries in Africa with high rate of violent attacks. From the bloody coup led by Samuel Doe in 1980, which brought the invention of an authoritarian system of system on the Liberians, to the rebellion coup led by Charles Taylor to over throw the government of Samuel Doe in 1989. Charles Taylor’s rebellion act led to a bloody civil war in Liberia that lasted for a while. Samuel Doe died in the civil war yet peace wasn’t attained until 1997 when a peace accord treaty was signed and election was staged which brought Charles Taylor into office as the President of Liberia.

However, the peace accord didn’t last long. The early year 2000 witnessed another round of war in Liberia which led to the death thousands of Liberia citizens while many other were displaced. In the year 2003, Charles Taylor was convicted by the UN-backed special court for Sierra Leone in Hague, he was forced to resign and a transitional government was put in place to oversee the affairs of Liberia. The country eventually saw the light of true democracy in 2005 after an election was staged which brought Ellen Johnson Saleef into power as a democratic leader and ended the rule of a transitional government.

War is such a gory situation, the nation of Liberia was forced to start the nation building from the scratch again as if they just got an independent from colonial rule. Ellen Johnson Saleef was re-elected in 2011, she focused more on building the dented economy of Liberia throughout her stay in office. However, just when the eyes and thought of the world was shifted away from Liberia, the news of Ebola outbreak and Patrick Sanyer brought the attention of the world back on Liberia.

It is appalling to state categorically that Liberia is one of the poorest countries in Africa. Prayer in it original state is a means of communication between man and God. Through the act of praying we make our intentions known to God, we let God know our supplication. Therefore, it is expedient that we say a prayer for the nation of Liberia. The case of Ebola is still at large in Liberia, the people voted for a new leader in 2018, but nothing has changed since they changed leaders. There is no gainsaying that the nation of Liberia has been faulted from the foundation. There has never been a long lasting peace of mind from the inception of the country Liberia. Ps 11:3: “If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?” There is a need for men of prayer to invite God to take charge of the situation in Liberia, God should correct every foundational errors that is affect the nation today.

Today we shall be engaging in prayer for the nation of Zambia. Lusaka being her capital city and most populated cities in Zambia. Zambia is one of the African countries located in the Southern part of the African continent.
It shares boarder with Tanzania to the north-east, Malawi to the east, Mozambique to the southeast and Democratic Republic of Congo to the north. The entire population of Zambia is about seventeen million people based on the last census held in 2016.

Judging from that, it is glaring that the population of the country is not a large one, hence, whatever the country produces should be able to cater and sustain her people. If that was the case, then we would have worried a little about Zambia and her populace.
However, despite small population density, the nation still live in extreme poverty. It is worthy of note that Zambia economy is based on exportation of mines, which takes more than 70 percent of the revenue. Meanwhile, more than 90 percent of her populace are living in the rural area characterised by unpleasant and old farming tool.

The people residing in the rural part of Zambia only engage in agriculture, they live in a world that has been secluded from the treasury bank of the nation. Heavily faced with starvation and malnutrition, lack of basic health amenities which has rudely increased the child mortality rate. Also, HIV and AIDS, Malaria among others are also one of the biggest killer of people in Zambia.
There is no gainsaying that the people of Zambia are living below the standard of God for their lives. The scripture (Jeremiah 29:11) made us to understand that God loves us and He have a good plan for us. “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end”.

So when we notice that we are living below the standard or plan of God for our lives, the best is to speak to God. It has become important that we say a prayer for the nation of Zambia.

WHY YOU SHOULD PRAY FOR ZAMBIA
